Project Overview
What is this?
Project: Eden's Garden is a nonprofit free-to-play Danganronpa fangame. The story follows Damon Maitsu, the Ultimate Debater, as he and 15 other students are kidnapped on the day of their orientation and brought to a mysterious building. There they meet their self-proclaimed headmaster 'Tozu' alongside his accomplice 'Mara', who force the students into a brutal Killing Game. The rules are simple: in order to escape, you must get away with murder!
Developed by a team of over 60 people, Project: Eden's Garden is a love letter to the Danganronpa franchise. We have currently released two chapters - Chapter 0: Vows Woven by Stitches and Needles and Chapter 1: Beneath the Veil of Hypocrisy - which are available to download on our itch.io and gamejolt pages! If you're new to us, please give them a try!
We originally opened auditions for our main cast back in 2021, although one individual had not been included in the roster: the ever elusive enforcer of the Killing Game, Mara. But with the next chapter of Project: Eden's Garden now in production, it's finally Mara's turn!
Requirements
You must be 16 years of age or older, along with being able to show extreme and versatile emotions. This is an unpaid position. However, the people developing the fangame are professionals in their field that have a passion for Danganronpa. While we don’t expect Triple-A voice acting, we do expect a similar quality of passionate individuals. A high-quality mic with no background noise/clipping is preferable. You can apply vocal effects to your voice if that is something you typically do. Since the demands are split between generalized and specific voice lines that come at a chapter-by-chapter release, it would be beneficial if you could stick around for multiple releases.
Character Notes
Notes will be given on demeanor, range, and specifics on how the voice should sound. While we invite you to give your best shot at whatever you are most comfortable in, we are more inclined to bring you on to the team if your voice acting meets the requirements of the character. The staff has the final say on who is given the job.
Confidentiality
Trust is of the utmost importance to us. As this project is incredibly near and dear to our hearts, we want to make sure whoever we sign on is not only the best at what they do, but will also keep all spoiler-centric details under lock and key. Our team is united in our love for the story we want to tell, so we are looking for voice actors who can share our passion and who will respect the hard work of their teammates. By casting you, we are trusting you as a future member of the team. Thank you for understanding.
Applying
Step 1: To submit an audition, you will need to create a CastingCallClub account.
Step 2: Locate the 'Apply / Audition' button at the bottom of Mara's profile and select it. This will take you to a new page.
Step 3: Upload your audio and press 'save'. You will then be directed to the next page.
Step 4: In the 'Notes' section under 'Additional Information', please include:
Your age.
The name you prefer to go by.
The social media handle/s you would like to be contacted via.
What equipment you are using to audition (mic, interface, effects, etc.).
Any additional notes you want to include (other examples of work, reasons for auditioning, etc.).
Step 5: Select whether or not you would like your submission to be 'public' or 'private'. Please do not select 'unlist' as it will prevent us from viewing your submission without a direct link.
Out of respect for your privacy, information contained in private submissions will not be made public. Only the team will be able to view and listen to submissions.
Step 6: Click "Done Editing". You've now uploaded your audition!

Personality
Referred to as the "Enforcer" of the Killing Game, Mara is possibly even more mysterious than Headmaster Tozu. Clad in black and armed to the teeth, this towering Stoic will punish any student who breaks the Killing Game's rules, no questions asked.
Voice Description
Mara is the straightwoman to the theatrical Tozu, deadpan, aloof, and equally as intimidating. The human version of an ice pick, Mara's way of speech is cold and penetrating. No filler. No stumbling over words. Just straight to the (very sharp) point (think Mandy from Grim Adventures, Raven from Teen Titans or Homura Akemi from Madoka Magica). She has a low-pitched voice (similar to Vaggie from Hazbin Hotel or Zooble from The Amazing Digital Circus) and speaks with a slight growl.
