Heya everyone! This casting call here is for an audio drama reading of a somewhat popular fanfiction I write for Persona 5 Royal titled The Mask Shatters, currently proceeding at a steady pace.

The Mask Shatters is a fanfiction set in the world of Persona by Atlus, specifically in the timeline of Persona 5 Royal, taking a third person view of an original character named Arthur Frederick Williams who is, like many characters of Persona, fighting many personal demons that society has thrusted onto him.
To summarize the story, Arthur finds himself heading to Tokyo on a foreign exchange program from the US. Everything seems as normal as it can get, until his chronic nightmares are replaced by vivid dreams of a bizarre, otherworldly old man beckoning him to "Find the Phantom Thieves" before "Your fate meets its conclusion". Arthur, a logical and intelligent young man, does not pay credence to such an event.... until it becomes clear the Phantom Thieves, as fantastical as they sound, are as real as himself.
Be warned! There are massive spoilers in this story! If you wish to play Persona 5 spoiler-free or have not played it but wish to do so one day without spoilers, DO NOT AUDITION!
Unlike most fanfictions, The Mask Shatters does not seek to be about the main cast of Persona 5 Royal, but instead wishes to follow an alternate universe centered around Arthur and his experiences with Igor, Joker, Queen, Shadows, the Metaverse, and his personal demons. The main cast of Persona 5 Royal are heavily featured, as it is a fanfiction, but it is not about them. It's all about Arthur.
Knowledge on the Persona series is NOT REQUIRED. But, it is recommended. To save a time and space on writing out a huge description, I will instead leave a link to the persona series wiki below if you wish to brush up on it:

Roles are listed in the order of importance in the story.
Unless you have a WIDE RANGE of voices you can provide, auditions placed will only be cast for one character. To cut down on disappointment and confusion, please audition for the character you MOST want.
A character document also exists, and is given only to those who are casted so they may review their character and others for preparation of the story.
Non-Canon characters do not have a picture associated due to them being OCs. I am in the process of getting art done for them but that will take A LONG time as of right now, so I will do my best to describe them in the role.
All characters listed are characters ready to be voiced RIGHT NOW. This casting call will be constantly updated as the story progresses. Please follow the casting call to keep track of it in case a role you would like becomes available.
Due to the nature of Persona, with most characters being Japanese, name pronunciations WILL BE PROVIDED in the role.
VOICE REQUIREMENTS
Many characters introduced are OCs, and as such casting will be more lenient on them than for any canon characters BUT will have requirements nonetheless. But for canon characters, there will be special instructions and you will have to follow them specifically.
Multiple takes are encouraged (2-3) for each audition line but NOT required!
You must follow the voicing instructions crystal clearly. Any audition with mess-ups on specific instructions w/o any attempts to fix WILL BE disqualified.
Usually, as stated, only the canon characters will have specific instructions. In fact, for these characters, I will simply provide audition lines, a brief description of them and their role in the game, and examples of their voice so you know what to go for.
Audition Requirements:
-Crisp, clean audio. No hums*, pops, hisses, or background noise. Any audition with these found inside WILL BE disqualified!
*Hums, if distant enough to be hardly noticeable, can pass auditioning ONLY if the voice actor can remove them when asked.
-Show emotion! Any audition without emotion or effort WILL BE disqualified!
-Communication preferences are up to the voice actor. You must alert me how you wish to communicate, otherwise it will be assumed you wish to communicate through Discord.
- If a role requires a specific language that isn't English, any auditions submitted that do not accurately speak the language given WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IMMEDIATELY.
-Have fun! Persona is definitely one of the easiest things to write for and have fun with at the same time! I'm sure you guys will find it the same!
