At my Front Door
Project Overview
“At my Front Door” is a slice of life, GL romance drama that revolves around 16 year old Beverly Upland and 16 year old Veronika Belcourt. The two are polar opposites, Beverly is a straight A student on the Student Council while Veronika is a popular delinquent that causes havoc all around the school campus.
The two have been enemies since middle school, where they would constantly antagonize and mock one another. That petty grudge is still held up until one day, when Beverly is taking a walk out in the rain, she spots Veronika all by herself. Beverly gave Veronika her umbrella and the two started talking. It started out rocky but it didn’t take too long for them to start developing a solid friendship. Turns out there’s more to each girl than the other knows of.

MAIN PROTAGONIST
Teenage Female. Mid to high toned. Very casual.
Beverly is a junior high school student with a nice future planned out for her. She’s a student council member, a straight A student, and hard worker in general. Not to say she doesn’t struggle though. She has her own fair share of problems that she doesn’t quite know how to sort out. Most people look up to Beverly due to her good behavior and grades, but others… not so much. She frequently conflicts with the school delinquents, especially the ones in her grade. She’s gentle most of the time but when it comes to her classmates she can get pretty demanding. She’s caring and is willing to listen to people most of the time. She can be quite petty though.

(Annoyed) “I was doing it to be nice, don’t think any more of it, okay?!”
(Lovingly, Teasing) “Not so big and mighty now, are ya?”
(Soft, Sad) “It’s… tough. Knowing that every day will just cause more panic and fighting, it sucks but it’s something you just have to deal with.”
OTHER PROTAGONIST / LOVE INTEREST / ANTI-HERO (In the beginning)
Teenage Female. Mid to low toned. Sassy with a lot of edge and drama to it.
Veronika is… something, to say the least. She’s confident and cocky, arrogant and flamboyant, she shows no patience and no mercy. She’s a tough one for sure. Teachers hate her, boys love her, and girls want to be her. She may be mean and conniving but she definitely isn’t lacking in the looks department. She’s demanding and intimidating, she can clear a hallway with on stare. She can manipulate easily, especially boys, into doing whatever she wants. Even Seniors and College students fear her. She is the top dog and no one dares mess with her. She is a delinquent when it comes to school, frequently skipping and getting away with it. Although she’s a jerk, something else may be going on with her behind the scenes that no one else is aware of…

(Upset) “I’m not going. Say I’m sick. The- flu or… something.”
(Angered, Intimidating) “You better get out of my way, I’ll slit your throat and watch the honor roll out.”
(Entranced, Awkward) “This is… nice. Uh- thank you… uh- do you think we can do this again? Like… another time..?”
SUPPORT
Teenage Female. High toned British accent. Spunky and playful.
Leia is Beverly’s best friend. Leia transferred to Rockmore from England during Middle school. Beverly and Leia have been best friends ever since. Leia is funny, sweet, and caring. She can make a whole room of people laugh, and she has. She’s quite loud sometimes, and rather clumsy as well but her heart is in the right place. She can be quite the wreck sometimes, but she never really causes trouble. She’s also on student council with Beverly, but isn’t taking it very seriously. She also doesn’t care too much about grades, but she works to keep them to at least a C.

Isaiah is a very quiet and introverted boy. He tends to keep to himself most of the time. He loves to draw and paint. He’s a very kind soul and is very gentle with everything. He’s soft spoken and doesn’t complain much. But once he starts to open up more, he becomes more talkative but maintains that kind nature he is known for. He loves dogs and always asks people if he can pet their dog if they have one. He’s very much a gentle giant, he is careful with everything and takes everyone’s feelings into consideration. He likes to be alone but he’ll go to events like homecoming and prom.

ANTAGONIST
Teenage Male. Low toned Hispanic accent. Charming and soothing.
Marco is the school heartthrob. He was born in South America and moved to Rockmore during freshman year. He’s on the varsity football team, he’s tall, and incredibly handsome. He’s charming but also a bit conniving as well. He doesn’t show how much he cares about stuff, mostly acting indifferent on things. He’s sociable and can be a lot of fun sometimes. He’s also a bit manipulative himself. He doesn’t exactly harass, but he can be a bit cruel sometimes. But he’s also very dashing and charismatic. He can make the most stone cold of people blush. He does have a soft side, but good luck finding it because it is hidden deep under all of the arrogance that he harbors.

It’s not his passion but its a hobby for him. He’s also on the student council board. He’s mellow and sociable, but he’s more of an omnivert if anything. He does fairly well in school. (Surprised) “...Wait– do you like him!? No offense but I just didn’t figure he’d be the one you’d like… you two are drastically different…”
(Caring, Loving) “I’m sorry you had to go through that. Nobody deserves to be treated that way, especially you. But you’ve got to hold out. It’ll get better, I promise.”

She’s very envious of Veronika, but keeps it to herself in hope that Veronika will fall from her throne and have it handed over to Stacey. Stacey is conniving and sly. She’s the complete definition of a manipulative backstabber. She has her fair share of problems though. She loves to gossip and hear about drama, she even stirs up drama herself.

Avery is a senior, the head of he student council. She does a lot for the school despite not really supporting the school system. She’s the vice president of the digital art program at Rockmore, and she does a lot of graphic design. She’s very independent and responsible. She doesn’t ask for help from most people unless if it’s absolutely necessary. Beverly looks up to her as a role model, and so the two are fairly close. Avery is always there for people if they need help, but she’s also a bit of a scatterbrain. She’s still very productive though! She plans out most things in advanced and stays as organized as possible.

She will always support her daughter, even when they fight.
