Hello! My team and I are making a visual novel as our college assignment and are looking for VAs to voice a handful of characters (2 leads and 2 minor roles)! Because this is a student project, we unfortunately will not be able to compensate you for your work, but we would still appreciate it if you would take the time to audition!
This visual novel is set in the cold trenches of WW1. The story, inspired by Kate Bush's 'Army Dreamers', follows William Johnson (17), an English boy whose dreams of becoming a poet were cut short by the war, and his naive younger brother, Tom (15), a soldier at heart and sort of glorifies dying on the battlefield. The two break into a quarrel with each other right before a missile hits their dugout, causing an active battle with the enemy troops. However, this ultimately leads to a tragedy that makes them both regret ever quarreling...
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 17+
Have a decent mic with little to no background noise
MUST BE ABLE TO DELIVER LINES QUICKLY (1-3 DAYS AFTER BEING CAST AND CONTACTED BY ME)

Please note that all the characters are from Britain. For the main characters (Will and Tom), it is preferred that you do an English accent for them!
Have an active Discord as this will be the main way we will be contacting with each other.
For the audition, please read each line 3 times, each time saying it in a different way to the last.
NOTE: We're sort of on a time crunch here, so it is very important that you'll be able to deliver your lines a MAXIMUM OF 3 DAYS after you get the script.

Will is the main character of this short visual novel. He's what you would call a dreamer. Before the war, Will was merely a poet at heart, who wanted nothing more than a simple life, writing his worries away. But, those dreams were cut short when he and his younger brother were forcefully recruited by the British Army to help fight in the Great War. He is mature, yet short-tempered when it comes to his brother, and he always seems to have his head up in the clouds.
Age: 17 years old
Role significance: Lead (13 lines/213 words)
Voice characteristics: medium to low pitch, British English accent (any), mature, calm rage (sort of)

(poetic) I’ll never forget that day... We were boys, just boys, aged fifteen and seventeen. Yet, nothing could ever make up for the horrors we’d seen.
(sharply) At least I’m doing something that matters. What have you done all your life, other than run your mouth?
(frantic, panicked) Don't move! Just stay still! (beat, cries) Tom? TOM! Let me go! Tom! No!
Tom is Will's younger brother, who is his complete opposite. He is naive, playful, has a big ego, and Will describes him as an annoying, little brat. Unlike his older brother, Tom believes in (physically) fighting for peace. He thinks he's ready to die on the battlefield if it meant winning the war.
Age: 15 years old
Role significance: Lead (12 lines/164 words)
Voice characteristics: medium to high pitch, British English accent (any), confident, cocky, slightly annoying

(mocking, in between laughs) "Could have led the world, but his fist stay tightly curled. What a waste, army dreamer"? (scoffs) Yeah, just like this entire book!
(terrified) Will, what do I do? I... I don't want to die.... I don't want to die! Will, I--
Mrs. Johnson is Will and Tom's mother. She plays a minor role at the end of the visual novel.
Age: Middle aged
Role significance: Minor (1 line)
Voice characteristics: medium pitch, British English accent (any), motherly, kind
