Greetings! This is a follow up casting call to one I did for the pilot about 2 years ago, with part one of the pilot released and finished (See the link if you're curious) and part two well under way for its production, I'd like to get the ball rolling for the rest of season 1! First, I will repost a brief summary of things.
What is Animal Kingdom about?This series takes place in alternate reality where a society is run by anthropomorphic animals years upon years after Human Kind has disappeared off the maps. The Animal Kingdom itself is a union representing harmony between all creatures, though there are those who desire to threaten it; fortunately, there are defenders seeking to protect it; Lune (Emperor Penguin) Alex (Toque Macaque Monkey) Dexter (Red Panda) Neige (Arctic Fox) and Barbara (Cat), these five fight along with the assistance of Lune's guardian, Eria (Snowy Owl) of to keep Animal Kingdom safe all while dealing with troubles in their own lives.
THIS IS NOT A SERIES FOR KIDS. MATURE CONTENT WARNING.Violence/Serious Injury/Blood; While there's no real gore, there are many incidents of characters getting injured through scratching, biting, punching, stabbing, etc
Vulgar Language/Light Suggestive Humor; There is a fair amount of swearing used, there will be no slurs and the worst a character will say is drop a F bomb. It's worth noting not every character will swear either.
Off Screen/On Screen Death; Characters can and will die.
Depictions of physical and emotional abuse/manipulation.
Mental Health Struggles; Mental health is something the series explores thoroughly. Topics such as trauma, anxiety, depression, su*cidal ideation are covered.
I will not accept submissions from any actors under 18.
This series is LGBTQIA+ positive; the main character is bi for example and falls in love with another boy over the course of the series.
The FormatThe series will be in the same audio drama format as the pilot; the stories will be told through my art acting like an animatic (though this will be reduced down to lower the load on myself) and the performances of the actors.
What To Expect For The SeasonSeason 1 has 13 fully written scripts, 11 of which are about 25-35 pages, and 2 of which are around 60 pages (Mid season and season finales respectively) which will be split into halves, episodes 1-6 are what I call season 1A, and episodes 7-13 are season 1B.
AuditioningCasting will be selected by the end of the deadline.
AAABBBCCC takes are required for auditions, I ask there'd be about 2-4 takes for each line. This will be carried over to the series proper if you are casted.

Please provide your discord with your audition so I may add you once you're casted and give you an invite to the discord server, there I will give updates and access to the scripts, you do not have to engage in discussions if you join, I only ask you inform me on the status of your lines and sending them in.
The series is long term. A lot of these characters are recurring, even if the initial role in season 1 isn't very big. I do understand if anyone ever needs to step out but I would prefer to keep voices consistent if possible.
Many of the same rules for auditioning apply during the actual production.
Don't add any effect or editing to lines if possible, that will be handled in post.
Please have files in MP3/WAV, sent to a channel on discord.
I may ask for redos if needed.

Progress will take a while. Even right now, part two of the pilot is being worked on but I don't expect it to be finished until well into next year hence why I am hoping to have recording for season 1 being worked on in the meantime. I am the sole artist/writer/editor for the series at the moment, while I am managing to have things go more effectively and hope to gain more of an art team in the future, I do ask for a a bit of patience (WIPs will for sure be shared in the server)

Apologies for how quiet things have been, but there's only a few days left until I close the casting call. My plan is to have most of the casting sorted by Wednesday, and any characters who don't have really have any auditions that I am satisfied with will be put in an follow up smaller casting call (which I might have to do anyway regarding a few more characters) Since I know there's a huge amount of submissions but only 30 characters, I would highly recommend trying out for the 'extras' slot as I am less picky on that front and I'd like as many as we can get (Provided you have a decent mic with little to no background sound of course)

Tristan is a 32 year old Liger, one of Raz's henchmen and one of the top captains of "Sombra".
Tristan is one of the main antagonists, and among the most intimidating. The only things he carries any sort of passion for is his loyalty to Raz and his partnership with Mora. He will do whatever he has to to meet his goals, with little regard for others. He is cold, uncaring, violent, and bitter.

(Cold; in pain) "I had warned you that I was a monster. I bet you think the same way too now. Like everyone else."

Kamau is an important recurring character in season 1 and the series as a whole, being a potential love interest for the main character. He is an 15 year old white lion that is training to be next in line to be captain of the royal guard for the Savannah Monarchy, as well as to follow in his father's footprints in trying to maintain a linage of white lions...That's what he believes he wants, anyway.
Kamau has the mind of a reserved soldier, despite his age. He is completely focused on the mission at hand and protecting any citizens in danger, thinking very little of himself and his own desires, and all in all wants to appease his father.
I envision Kamau with a soft spoken, serious, sort of anime shōnen protagonist type of feel.
(Serious) "You can’t be out here. It’s not safe."
(Sad) "...I didn’t keep us from ending up out here. You’re the one taking care of me when I should be protecting you."
(Nervously tenses up) "N-Not if I have anything to say about it!"

Lutalo is a 60 year old white lion, Kamau's father, and captain of the Elite Royal Guard Of Leo, right under King Wavivu of the Savannah Monarchy. He is one of the few rare whole lions left and for this reason, believes he and his son are special. Lutalo is pompous, proud, and short tempered, but he does get the job done and has earned respect.
I imagine his voice is deep and boisterous.
(Mocking) "Tsk tsk, threatening the sovereign of the most powerful territory of the Animal Kingdom? How dimwitted must you rogues be?"
(Serious) "Your days of causing troubles are over, you no good recreants!" (To his group of lions) "Leos. Take these rogues away."
(Proudly) "I, am Lutalo! Captain of the royal guard! And the right hand mane of King Wavivu himself! But I am known best for my beautiful and gleaming coat color you see!"
Juno is a 26 year old lioness, and an recurring antagonist for both the season and series. She is the great granddaughter of the long disposed tyrant King Keres. She "rules" over a small jungle in the Savannah Monarchy alongside her younger sister and brother, and hopes to reclaim her great grandfather's full kingdom and power someday.
Juno is violent, unhinged, and diabolical, she can also be really childish and isn't above throwing hissing fits or fights when she doesn't get what she wants.
I envision she has a bit of scratchy, harsh, almost witch-like sounding voice with a loud cackle.
(Cackles) "You’re the ones threatening us? Do you even know where you are? Who I am?"
(Angry) "I don’t understand! They are lions! Predators! It’s in our nature to feast on creatures weaker than us, yet they protect them! For what? To look good? To earn “power”? It’s pitiful!"
(Weakened; desperate) "No! This isn’t possible!" (To the crowd) "My people! You must stop this fiend! Get up here!"

Zuva is an 25 year old lioness, and younger sister of Juno and older sister to Denzell.
Despite being younger than her "queen" sister. Zuva is a bit more "mature" and calculating, preferring wits than brawn, because of this, she believes she should be the leader and is very much bitter about the ordeal. She can still be very much be just as childish as her elder sister and will succumb to her ego on occasion.
I envision she has a deep, but very prissy sounding voice with a bit of flirt to it.
(Disgusted) "Is this seriously it? A couple of fish? Sister, we’re lions! We don’t eat this stuff!"
(Manipulative; sounding distressed) "My brother and I have been fending off those pesky thieves for weeks now, it’s become… straining. They’re getting quite smart, I had hoped some extra lion-power could help us stop them once and for all."
(Smug) "Indeed, young warrior, indeed..."

Denzell is a 24 year old lion, and the young brother to both Juno and Zuva. Unlike his sisters, Denzell doesn't really care about reclaiming his great grandfather's kingdom, as his main focus is to keep his family safe and happy. He is generally the only sort of nice one of the trio and the only one to feel any sort of guilt for the bad stuff they do.
Denzell has just a very normal, causal sounding voice. Somewhere in the higher register.
(Relieved) "Sister! You’re alright!"
(Slightly protective) "Do you intend to cause trouble?"
(Gulity) "J-Just calm down and it won’t hurt as bad, little guy."

Technically, Keres only appears in this season as a ghost, though he will likely make non-dead appearances in the future.
Keres is the former king of the Savannah Monarchy to which he ruled with an iron fist, he attempted to conquer the other lands of the Animal Kingdom until he was stopped and struck down by the original defenders. He appears now as an unleashed ghost in the present, seeking revenge for his downfall.
I imagine his voice sounding low, haunting, and sinister.
(Haunting; taunting) "Afraid of ghosts now…?"
(Haunting) "You won’t be scared for too much longer."
(Haunting) "Now join your fellow felines, and help me get revenge on this world."
Lucas is a 19 year old camel, who is on the run from home. He is very nonchalant and rather dim witted typically, but succumbs to fear very easily. He is a one time character but he has a large role in the episode he appears in.
Lucas speaks with a low, surfer-dude like accent.
(Awkward) "Um. Well, I got into a fight with my parents and now I’m just on the run. I can’t have pops telling me how to live my life, man. I wanna find something better on the other side. But like… I don’t know where I'm even going."
(Coughing; horrified) "What the fuck, man!?"
(Sarcastic) "Yeah man, he’s doing such a goooood job at that." (Freaked out) "How do you know it’s not gonna be you next time he goes crazy??"
Lemon Drops is a 16 year old Birman cat, and the ex-girlfriend-turned rival of sorts for Barbara. Lemon embodies the mean popular girl type to a tea, repeatably taking cruel bitter shots at her ex lover and her friends.
Lemon Drops speaks with a snobbish, slight valley girl accent (Almost as if she is faking it)
(Intrigued) "Oh do tell, Barbie. I’d like to hear it."
(Angry scoffs) "You should consider yourself lucky; you’re dating one of the most popular girls in school right now, I let you play a part in my productions… If you want to be around me so bad, then make an effort to fit in my circle, Barbie. If anything, you’re kinda starting to hold me back."
(Guilt-tripping) "Oh come now, I thought you loved me…"
Abigail is a 16 year old cocker spaniel, and the leader of Dexter's art club. She has a very excitable but dramatic personality, frequently channeling her acting skills almost. She has a very minor role in season 1 but will be a recurring character in the future.
I imagine she would speak with a very squeaky, upbeat voice that goes in and out of other voices.
(Friendly) "Dexter, if there’s something bothering you; you are free to tell us, we’re all friends here!"
(Concerned) "I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time, Dexter, at least you were able to get some of those feelings out with this exercise, yeah?"
(Excited) "EXCELLENT! We’re all free!" (Gets dramatic) "Our poor lil guy is in a crisis right now, and let me tell you that won’t do at all! The only remedy for this is a good day of FUN!"
Suzy is a 16 year old skunk, and a member of Dexter's art club. Suzy has a very laid back and snarky personality, often being the voice of reason in the group. She has a minor role in season 1 but will be a recurring character.
Suzy speaks with a very flat monotone voice. As the character is trans, I would prefer a trans woman for the part if possible.
(Concerned) "You’ve been very stressed out a lot these days as a matter of fact… More than normal."
(Weirded out) "Dex, she’s your sister, not your mom. She’s barely older than you, dude. It’s kinda weird that she’d give that much of a shit."
(Teasing; chuckles) "...And even if we were… doesn’t do the same thing herself?"
Harper is a 16 year old woodpecker, and a member of Dexter's art club. Harper is a bit of a slacker, and is very awkward with serious social situations. Harper has a very minor role in season 1 but is a recurring character.
Harper speaks a semi-deep and causal tone.
(Concerned; awkward) "Okaaay. Are you sure you’re alright, dude? You don’t seem to be in a good headspace right now."
(Awkward) "…That’s deep, bro."
(Playfully) "It’s not like we’re taking you out to do drugs or anything."
McKenna is a 39 year old spotted hyena, a famous detective and major hero to the Animal Kingdom for how they have foiled the schemes of many of the traffickers in and out of the territories and saving countless lives. McKenna is very serious about what they do, almost too serious, as they struggle with the pressures of their role and wanting to commit further with the love of their life, Tula. McKenna is a very major character in the second half of season 1 and is a very large focus on a few episodes.
McKenna has a very low, serious, almost aggressive tone, and has an Australian accent. I would prefer an nonbinary VA for the role if possible.
(Serious) "Well color my spots… I got my work cut out for me."
(Slightly Playful) "Ah Marley. You’ve made it to the scene of the crime before me. That’s a first."
(Chuckles; romantic) "You’ve always lightened my spirits, darlin’."
Marley is a 39 year old zebra, and a detective and the right hoof to McKenna. Marley is essentially the 'good cop' to McKenna's 'bad cop', being nowhere near as intimating or aggressive in comparison. Marley is a lot more kind, if not naive, while taking the job seriously, he isn't afraid to spend time spent with his two daughters and wife. Marley doesn't have as big of a role as McKenna, but is a sizable recurring character in both the season and series.
Marley speaks with a calm, friendly, deep voice.
(Friendly) "Well you know how it is, Red Wood doesn’t have good herbs for my daily tea." (Looks up) "I say it's a good thing in this case, yeesh."
(Awkward) "We can hear you kids from outside. You willing to let us interview your or…?"
(Trying to reason) "Aw come on, don’t-" (Actually realizes) "wait really?"
Tula is a 39 year old African dog, and partner of McKenna. She is a spunky, upbeat dog with a brighter look on life and a capability to kick ass if needed. Though she loves McKenna, she struggles with their constant life and death job pulling them away, and repeatably tries to pull the hyena away whenever she can.
Tula has a very warm, friendly tone to her voice. She speaks with an Australian accent.
(Playful) "Of course, all of Animal Kingdom may treat you like you’re some immortal god, but you're not invincible, muffin." (Snorts)
(Disappointed) "You got a kingdom to protect, I get it… But that doesn’t mean I’ll play second fiddle."
(Confident) "Well, dating the most skilled and famous detective is bound to teach you some things." (Chuckles)
Chocolate, or Choco for short, is a 16 year old red panda, Dexter and Barbara's sister, and a member of the band called the 'The Neapolitan Triplets' (despite not actually being triplets) Choco is the angsty rebel of the group, wanting to stick out in anyway she can both as a band as herself. She doesn't play huge role in the season, but does show briefly in a few episodes.
Choco speaks with a low gruff and raspy voice. Choco also appears in a flashback as a child with a few lines, I figure I'd be easier to have the same VA for both the child and present teen iterations of the character.
(As a child; Dry) "You’re so boring and weird. Let’s go play elsewhere Mr. Walnut!" (Laughs)
(Bitter; teenager) "Fine, then let me play it. You're always hogging the spotlight anyway."
(Opening up; teenager) "I know it’s stupid. The thing with music is that’s a way to express yourself that simply talking can’t. I know it’s why you and I gravitated towards it in the first place." (Sighs) "I can’t keep it from you."
Vanilla, or Nilla for short, is a 16 year old red panda, Dexter and Barbara's sister, and a member of the band called the 'The Neapolitan Triplets' (despite not actually being triplets) is the uptight rule follower of the group who prefer to play things safe. She is very prone to stress and panic outbursts when things go array. She doesn't play huge role in the season, but does show briefly in a few episodes.
Nilla would have a high pitched, almost nasally type of voice. Nilla also appears in a flashback as a child with a few lines, I figure I'd be easier to have the same VA for both the child and present teen iterations of the character.
(As a child; Scolding) "Be nice!"
(Teenager; Nervous) "But taking risks is... risky! We have to stick to something inoffensive."
(Teenager; in utter panic) "AHHHH! Our guitarist is gone! We barely have a song figured out! This is going to be a DISASTER! "
Strawberry, or Berri for short, is a 16 year old red panda, Dexter and Barbara's sister, and a member of the band called the 'The Neapolitan Triplets' (despite not actually being triplets) Berri is the frontrunner, star, and diva of the group, who desires to be a pop star someday. She doesn't play huge role in the season, but does show briefly in a few episodes.
Berri would a high pitched but slightly raspy tone. Berri also appears in a flashback as a child with a few lines, I figure I'd be easier to have the same VA for both the child and present teen iterations of the character.
(As a child; upset) "Noooo! Give me back Mr. Walnut! He’s supposed to save the princess!"
(Dismissingly) "What sort of business are we talking about here? You didn’t get Dexter into drugs, did you?"
(Teenager; distressed) "I can't sing this trash in front of the whole Animal Kingdom! It's so... UGH."
Selene is Dexter's and Barbara's later on adoptive mother. She is a soft spoken but determined social worker with a lot of anxiety of her own she struggles with. She doesn't have a huge role in the season, but is a recurring character overall in the series.
I imagine she has a very soft and gentle deep voice.
(Stumbling) "I… Sometimes, people do weird things when they’re sad. They don’t always think about the people they care about and how it can hurt them."
(Calling out) "Dexter. Where are you?" (Anxiety kicks in) "Oh god. This is my fault, I shouldn’t have brought everyone here like this- I know how Dexter gets-"
(Uplifting) "We will find you people that will love and take care of you, they won’t ever replace your parents, but…"
Kayden is Dexter's and later on Barbara's adoptive father. Kayden is a very practical panda, not being plagued by the same struggles of his wife and children, but does make the effort to be as supportive as he can. He doesn't have a huge role in the season, but is a recurring character overall in the series.
I imagine Kayden would have a very plain sounding voice, somewhere in the higher register.
(Baffled) "Selene, we’re already raising 4 kids, you want to add a traumatized kitten to that?"
(Smiles) "You have such a good heart, it’s what I love best about you, (Uncertain) but…"
(Stern) "Girls. Behave yourselves."
Renae is a 40 year old raccoon and is the vice president of the United Grasslands who is currently planning to make a an election bid of her own. She is a typical politician, constantly worrying about her appearances and the optics of things. Though she doesn't have a big role in season one, she will have a bigger role in things in the future.
Renae has a southern accent.
(Anxious) "Hmm. I’d be lying if I wasn’t concerned, between this and the scepter incident a few months back; something isn’t right…"
(Serious) "We already ruled out the T.O.T.F.C. We’re not sure what it could be, to be frank."
(Annoyed) "With my election bid coming up this fall, I especially don’t want any surprises. Not any that hurt my chances anyway. "
Astrid is Alex's mother, and the leader of the Zeidar Clan. She is both physically and emotionally abusive to all, but most her two sons especially. Despite being weakened in a recent incident involving Alex's older brother, it has does little to cease her cruelty.
I envision she has a cold and raspy sounding voice.
(Chuckles; mockingly) "I never thought I’d see the day where one of my own befriends a dog. How interesting."
(Concerned; fake) "I would be more than honored in repairing things with my baby boy, I can’t help but be concerned of how he is doing now. The things my scouts have told me have been… concerning. As his ‘friend’, I would like to hear how my son is doing from a reliable source."
(Disgusted) "Good god, you’ve really become pathetic. How is it that without my bigger waste of a son in the picture, that you’ve fallen so far off from grace?"

Saif is an older Binturong in his 50s, and a member of the spiriter elders. He is the calm one of the group and the one that handles visitors. Saif has a very brief role in season 1 but is a recurring character.
I envision his voice to be a calm but friendly older voice.
(Greeting) "Salutations! Welcome to our humble home, how may we help…"
(Happy) "My dear spiriters! I have the most exciting news! The brother of an old friend of ours has come to make a visit!"
(Sad; tries to be assuring) "Join us for a while, Alexander. We shall alert Elder Zen that you are here. He should be able to assist in your plight."

Fabian is a Saiga Antelope in his 50s, and a member of the spiriter elders. He is a bit more uptight and strict compared to his peers, but still upholds the kind values of his community. Fabian has a very brief role in season 1 but is a recurring character.
I imagine he has a sharper tone that will shift to a friendlier one
(Intrigued) "Someone has come to visit us."
(Concerned) "Release your grip a bit, please. We do not want to choke the boy."
(Happy) "How old are you now? You might even match how old Aaron was when he was last here."

Owain a tapir in his 50s, and a member of the spiriter elders. He is loud. boisterous and very affectionate. Owain has a very brief role in season 1 but is a recurring character.
I envision he would have a very warm and loud tone.
(Playfully) "I am sorry Alexander! You know how I am with big hugs."
(Happy) "Oooo! Look at how much you’ve grown! You’re even growing a beard now! Truly, you’re looking like a real primate! So much like your brother!"
(Shocked) "Tomorrow?? What brings you here during such a special occasion?"

Zen is a Komodo Dragon in his 70s. He is the leader of the spiriters and the one they all answer to. He is wise and regularly tries to give advice to anyone who hasn't an issue. Zen has a very brief role in season 1 but is a recurring character.
I envision a very old but calm and deep tone.
(Concerned) "You look at odds with yourself, young primate."
(Comforting) "Well, yes, but that also includes you. It is truly yourself that you must learn to forgive if you ever want to achieve inner peace, and it is you who chooses who you want to surround yourself with. Forgive if you may, but do not force a paw out to those who bring you unhappiness."
(Comforting) "Of course you do. You are family to us. It is our job to provide guidance to our fellow spiriters. The purpose of all of this is to honor the gift the magicians gave us all those years ago."
Jewels is Eria's mother. She is incredibly protective of Eria due to her disability and constantly discourages any situation that could cause Eria to loose her flying altogether. Jewels only appears in this season in a flashback episode, the role is relatively minor but will appear in a bigger role in the future.
Jewels speaks with a very deep motherly voice with a bit of anxiety that's always there.
(Excited; tries holding it in) "Ahem. I’m deeply sorry for my entrance there, but we just got the most incredible offer from our employers."
(Worried) "I just don’t want her hurt… you have to understand how hard things will be for her if she ever breaks her wings. She really will be stuck at that point."
(Surprised) "That’s what you were thinking about??? You want to join the royal guard???"
Aster is Eria's father. He has the opposite perspective on Eria's disability compared to his wife, believing she shouldn't let it from reaching her ambitions, he is the one of both parents to have a bigger impact on Eria. He is usually in a happier albeit tired mood usually. Aster will only be a one time appearance in one episode.
I envision he has a deep, relaxed, but rather tired tone
(Concerned) "And we appreciate it, but right now, you have to focus on yourself and your own future, I fear that if you spend all your time focusing on your brothers and sisters…"
(Chuckles) "Jewels, you always told me to rest more. I’ll sit this one out."
(Assuring) "Yes. I know that because you are my daughter, descendants of those who have persevered through countless hurdles, People of the Animal Kingdom will turn to depend on you one day, for that reason, you must give it your all."
Emperor Blizzard is the former ruler of the Arctic Empire before Snowflake, and is Lune's grandfather. His role in season 1 is super brief but will likely reappear in flashbacks in the future.
I envision he has a deep commanding voice with a European accent.
(Shrugs it off) "He’s not entirely wrong, love."
(Sternly) "What’s going on here?! Snow Angel, Snowflake?! Who is this?!"
(Confident) "I’m letting my girl decide, she’ll be succeeding me sooner than later. "
Alaska is the former consort of the Arctic Empire, and Lune's grandmother. Her role in season 1 is super brief (Two lines long brief) but she will reappear in the future.
I envision she has a warm voice with an European accent.
(Annoyed) "Was that really necessary, Walter?"
(Concerned) "Honey, she’s fifteen…"
One of the ultimate antagonists of the season. Bloodtaster is a Tasmanian devil and leader of the T.O.T.F.C, a gigantic group of traffickers and mafia like gangsters that live in and out of Animal Kingdom's borders. Bloodtaster lives up to his name as he is ruthless towards his prey, regularly eating chicken legs. He can range from being quickly angered to a smooth talker, whatever gets him results. He appears more in the second half of season 1.
I envision he would a bit of a Brooklyn accent, someone with a raspy voice that could from pissed to almost a salesmen in an instant.
(Snarky) "Pleasure to meet you, ma’am. Forgive my boys for being a little rough, any cargo that gets an audience with me is usually a fighter."
(Threatening) "…If you ain’t gonna be useful by telling us what’s up, then I’m afraid we’re gonna have to to rip your fuckin’ guts out. Both of you."
(Sweating; but still relaxed) "Listen, you can do that… but my thousands of guys across the entire Animal Kingdom wouldn’t take it too kindly, ya know?"
