Project Overview
After a spacewalk goes horribly wrong, Commander Vincent Rhoades finds himself alone aboard the Perseus-7. But as he grieves, his lost crewmate mysteriously reappears—forcing Vin to question his reality, his sanity, and the very nature of his existence in deep space. The expected run time for this episode is around 25 minutes.

Deadlines are fairly flexible, but would generally like to have lines by two weeks of casting (the quicker, the better!). If you don’t think you can meet this deadline, please don’t audition. Recording will be done remotely and asynchronously.

Male, 30-40s
The commander of the two-man ship, Perseus-7. He mainly goes by Vin. Vin is a disciplined, efficient, yet weary guy -- someone who's probably spent way too much time in space. He appears very strong and authoritative, and pushes all his stress and emotions internally. He has a dry sense of humor, a thing for sarcasm, always trying to put his Lieutenant down and uses his rank as Commander as justification for nearly everything.
He stutters a lot when nervous. He'll try to sound authoritative, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Always calm and collected, but when things go wrong or out of routine, that's when he begins to spiral downhill, and his true emotions begin to show, especially through his voice.

(desperate) C’mon Sam... Give me something... (whispers, realizing) God. No no no...
(exhales) Am I going crazy? Goddamnit I don’t know. I’m not convinced. But if you can hear this... please respond.
Male, late 20s-early 30s
Perseus-7's Lieutenant. The EVA specialist, but he and Rhoades have agreed to alternate who goes out on EVAs. A guy with high confidence, always embracing the challenge rather than fearing it. Frequently drops in humor in conversation, and it comes naturally to him. Loves lightening the mood, goofing around, but he knows his place and he'll get things done. There's a charm to him, but restlessness too -- like he's always searching for something he can't quite get.
Smooth way of talking. He's always thinking of something, he has a very thought provoking mind. Uses nicknames and casual language a lot. Rarely upset or angry at anyone, always finds a way to make a bad situation better by bringing the attention away. But he's also quite good at messing up a good situation and making it worse than it needs to be.

The view. It’s like— being outside of everything you’ve ever known. You feel that? Like you’re not even real anymore?
(comforting) I’m right here. I never went anywhere. I just said I was gonna come back after I finished my psych wellness report. Remember?

Perseus-7's AI. Stands for Multi Intelligence Reconnaissance & Interactive Assistance Module. MIRIAM helps with daily tasks, ensuring the ship is in good condition, and keeps the crew on task. She is always calm, but unsettlingly attentive, listening in to all the crew's conversations and whereabouts. She always remembers, and never forgets. There's just something human-like regarding the way she speaks.
Her voice is not completely robotic. You can perhaps hear a hint of emotion, warmness, almost a motherly quality, when she talks. Like she understands more than she should. But there's a clinical tone that reminds us that she's not human. She speaks with absolute certainty, no matter what the topic is. Her pauses are a little too long, mostly because she's processing information. But is she really doing that?
