Alien: Solara. An ALIEN fan audio drama.
Project Overview
In space no can hear you scream. The crew of the USCSS Solara find themselves on a collision course with the deadliest creatures in the galaxy, and alien life forms called "Xenomorphs". This crew of space truckers will have to fight to survive against Human and Aliens alike. One thing is for sure... they're not getting paid.
Please read the following.
Before you audition for this project, I must make this clear. There is NO pay involved. This is non profit, and does not generate any money. This project was almost completed, but cast members began to demand money for their time, and then things went downhill from there. If you have no intention of finishing the project, or will later demand payment, I ask that you not audition. I will not deal with that situation again. You will be free to use your work in this project to demonstrate yourselves for paying work, or even promote on a patreon, but under no circumstances are you to sell, ask for, or in any way attempt to profit directly off your work in this project.

Casting decisions
I'd like to thank everyone who has auditioned, you've all done well. Unfortunately I can't pick everyone, and we will have more projects like this coming up so don't hesitate to audition in the future. Final decisions for all roles will be made soon.
She's young, but older since she's spent so much time in Cryo. Technically she's 25, but thanks to being in stasis for so much of her life, she's only a teenager. But her appearance as a teenager doesn't make her less capable of being a Captain of a ship. Her father purchased an old M class star freighter before she was even born and was intent upon taking his family and crew "to the money" wherever it could be found. After he died, he left all of his savings and ship to his daughter who took on the task of taking her crew to the money. She's always done well for them, even though her roughneck crew don't much care for the contracts she takes from Weyland-Yutani, but the pay is always OK and the jobs relatively easy. She is stubborn, slow to change her mind and greedier than her father ever was.
I couldn't care less what Wey-Yu wants. We're under contract to do a specific job, not clean up their messes for pennies on the dollar.
Plutus, what a shit hole. If it weren't for the gold, they'd use it to dump garbage on. Acheron was a better place to live. You know, before the atmosphere processors exploded and nuked the whole colony.
I don't want these things on my ship. I don't care how much they're worth. Unless someone tells me what they're worth, then I'll think about it.
Note: You may audition with a normal accent, but he was previously played with a British one.
I represent the companies interests in Plutus, and it is my job to ensure the miners aren't setting a little something aside for themselves. It may sound greedy, but the company has sunk nearly a trillion dollars into the mine and it has only recently turned a profit.
As an old synth, you should know Humans are flawed creatures and not particularly worthy of the praise you seem to heap on them for creating you. They destroy as much, if not more than they create. They are not gods, they are more like locusts.
You are interfering with special order 938. Your contract with the company is hereby terminated, effective immediately.
Chief engineer of the Solara, known only as "chief", is an odd person. The chief's personal hygiene is always a topic of discussion. Chief can fix anything, except their own personal "aroma". The Captain keeps the chief on board because they can fix anything, so she tries not to complain about the bad habits too much. The chief has a vile habit of "scratching their butt crack with a favorite screw driver, especially when sweating a lot. The crew find the Chief to be horrible, disgusting, but someone you'd want fixing anything that broke. As long as it was far away from you.
Male or Female may audition.
All I need is a bottle of booze, a porn mag, my screwdriver to scratch my ass crack and my balls and a place to lay down. I'm not picky, I'm not greedy, I'm just kind of scummy. I'm happy with my life, and that's all that matters.
Taking showers is a waste of ships resources, you're just gonna have to live with my swamp crotch smell or back the fuck off.
We can land the ship if you want, but if we lose the port drive engine like we did the last time we landed on Thedus, don't expect me to come up with a last second miracle to save our asses. Even though I probably will.
The chiefs assistant is laid back kind of "yeah, It'll get done" kind of person. He doesn't feel obligated to bust his ass to fix anything, but when he does it always stays fixed until something breaks it. They and the chief usually spend their time out of cryo together getting drunk and watching porn, and depleting the ships food stores. Though they may be lazy, they always come through even when it seems like they won't.
Male or female may audition.
You know my motto, never do today what you can put off till tomorrow. And my second motto is there's always someone better for the job.
I went into cryo half drunk, and I'm getting out of it half drunk. I've been drunk for three months and I can't remember anything.
It's a state of the art boom box! This baby has two cassette players! Can we keep it?
Carla Ramirez, ships medic. She's basically ships mommy. She and the captain don't much get along despite growing up together. She's the most rational member of the crew, and also the least likely to throw herself into a dangerous situation.
I don't even know your name. I grew up with you, and I don't know your name. When we were little I just pointed at you and said "her". We should be family, but I know everyone else, even John, better than I know you. And no, before you think it, I'm not interested in dating you or anything so keep your ever expanding ego in check, I don't care how pretty you are. Well, maybe a little. But that's not the point.
This discovery could rewrite all of Human history! Eh, forget it, they'd probably just bury it.
We're not colonial marines, we're basically space truckers.
