Alemondra (Original Audio Drama)
Project Overview
This is a casting call for an original series that I’ve been developing for about 2-3 years now. This audio drama is about the Kingdom of Alemondra which is in the middle of civil war from the perspective of various groups of people living in the 5 regions of the Kingdom.
In 2050, America fell and a country called Natium rose some years later. Natium modeled its government after the American government system. The King Of Alemondra took over Natium and the entire world when the environment radically changed on Earth and the continents merged into a second Pangea. His rise to power was on the basis of protecting civilians from the unstable environment.
The war began with a group of rebel fighters called the Natium Freedom Fighters (NFF). The founder of the group, Octavian, raised troops amongst the citizens of Alemondra. Within the first ten years of the war, smaller rebel groups formed, fighting for various underserved groups but few still exist in the 120th year of the war which is where the story mainly takes place. Octavian passed away and his group is led by his daughter Tatiana who is trying to find a machine that can go into the subconscious of a person and control them before the King of Alemondra can utilize it as a weapon to annihilate the rebellion.
The king’s troops locate the machine and destroy the facility in which it was housed. The test subject for the machine miraculously survives and is not found by the troops. The king takes 5 surviving scientists working in the facility as prisoners and orders them to rebuild the machine.
The test subject meets a civilian named Godorith and the story follows her experience learning about Alemondra. She is unaware that she is being sought after by the scientists who know she is the key to understanding how and why the machine functions.
Part of the story will follow a woman named Hannah who joins the military illegally. In her last week of training camp, she runs into her childhood friend and crush Raynor, who is now a Captain in the King’s Army.
This story jumps between different places and character’s perspectives to give the listener a better sense of what is happening in the war from all sides and to give a more accurate depiction of what it is like for all sorts of people living in this dystopian world. It is a complicated storyline and can be a little confusing when you get down into the nitty-gritty details so if it’s not 100% clear don’t worry.
To work on this project you must have an email and a Discord. You must also be willing to check your Discord for announcements, news, and deadline alerts every 3 days. I expect cast members who aren’t playing extras to turn in their deadlines on time. You must tell me in advance if you cannot turn in lines by an assigned deadline. I also expect voice actors to be open to constructive criticism and to be willing to rerecord lines as needed.
Please note that there are some characters that are mentioned but will not be cast at this time. If this Audio Drama succeeds then I will be making a prequel series called Dandelion Prayer which will include these uncast characters and some characters mentioned below.

The narrator can be male or female and of any voice range. I'm looking for someone who has a nice reading voice as if reading a story aloud.
Versha Region: Rebellion Headquarters. Year 4022 120th year into the war.
Torrin shrunk in horror at the man in front of him. He was a man with grossly sagging cheeks with several scars on his face. The sight reminded him of a mangy pit bull.
The recruits watched as Captain Raynor stood in front of the course. He flew through the air like a piece of the wind. His enemies were struck down in seconds and before a full minute was up he landed gracefully at the end of the course.
Aliver was part of the formation of the Natium Freedom Fighters (NFF) and is second in command of the rebellion. He is a great organizer and strategist. Aliver has a great interest in history and personally teaches instructs new recruits about world history prior to Alemondra’s existence. His voice is mid to low in range. He should be able to sound firm with soldiers but also be able to sound friendly and light-hearted when talking with Tatiana.

Watch yourself Damascus. I have no hesitation in pulling the trigger. You’ve been nothing but trouble since I recruited you 100 years ago.
As a soldier, your first and only duty is to obey orders. You can have the luxury of free thought and debate later.
Tatiana is the daughter of Octavian. After her father’s passing, she became the leader of the Natium Freedom Fighters (NFF). She is a charismatic, fierce leader despite her young age. Tatiana is particularly skilled at negotiating and acting which ultimately helps her when she decides to go undercover in the capital city of Sellium. Her voice is mid to low in range. I’d like for the voice actor of Tatiana to be able to express a wide variety of emotions and tones.
(chuckling) Hiding close to the serpent himself… I didn’t peg Galvin to be that sort of man.
Put the gun down Aliver.
Thank you for speaking with me Damascus. Your little speech today has reminded me that we need to go back to the roots of the Natium Freedom Fighters. We must eliminate bad seeds before they poison the rest of the crop. Wouldn’t you agree?
Damascus is one of the members of the NFF. He is very conceited and is spiteful about not being the second in command of the rebellion. He tries to convince Tatiana to give him the position but Tatiana ends up shooting him instead. He has a medium ranged voice and sounds very pleasant and friendly which is a cover for his true intentions.
The soldiers have been whispering. We don’t like how the winds have been blowing. The rocks bellow and ache at night with the pain of the past and the impending future.
(mockingly) My apologies Commander. You do know how I hate to cause you such trouble.
(gleefully) I knew you would be enlightened Commander.
Galvin is the inventor of the Mind Machine. He made three prototypes before asking Rodian, Rixion, Blaria, Yuel, and Leiola to help him with his machine. His voice can be any range. The crucial emotion for him to convey is a sense of urgency and command.
Move faster dammit. The troops will be arriving sooner than you think.
Keep taking as much information as you can. Do what you must to keep it out of their hands.
Rodian is one of the five original scientists who worked with Galvin. He is a natural leader and is able to remain calm in stressful situations. He has a medium ranged voice and he often sounds logical/calculative or calm/soothing depending on the situation.
Almost. Galvin had only five assistants including myself when he first started his research. Keep in mind that he constructed the three prototypes and had multiple subjects tested when he recruited us.
Sir, the troops have shut our power.
My name is Rodian. I am a researcher and designer of machine advancement and construction.
Rixion is one of the five original scientists who worked with Galvin. He is very nervous and skittish. His voice is medium to high in range. Aside from being nervous sounding it is important for him to be able to sound confident and excited when talking about biology.
(nervous) I-I-I’m Rixion. I am a biochemist who um creates serums and other um injections for the um test subject.
(confident) I don't think so. Something of that magnitude could take decades to develop.
Blaria is one of the five original scientists who worked with Galvin. He was also one of the survivors of the Crystalline Massacre. His face is deformed with sagging cheeks which makes people call him a pit bull or a dog. Blaria has a foul mouth and a very violent temper. His voice is low in range. I want the voice actor to be able to portray a strong angry voice but also be able to have a softer tone and emotion when needed.

Leiola is one of the five original scientists who worked with Galvin. He is very quiet and introverted. Because of this, he is very observant of his colleagues’ behavior and often decides to remain passive about their outbursts and blunders. His voice can be any range.
My name is Leiola. I am a biologist who monitors the test subject’s physical reactions to the mind simulations.

Yuel is one of the five original scientists who worked with Galvin. He is sadistic and has very little empathy for others. Yuel quite frankly never truly cares about whether the machine will be fixed for the sake of saving his life or the lives of his colleagues. His voice is high pitched in range and he often sounds very energetic, amused and happy while watching people die or others be in pain.
(amused and smiling) I am Yuel. I design and create mind simulations.

Torrin is a scientist working in Galvin’s facility. He dies when the King’s Army invades the facility but he manages to hide the Test Subject (Fortisa) and ultimately is the reason why she survives. His voice is medium to high in range.
It’s alright I suppose sir. I didn’t expect to be in the Red Sorin Desert but it is rather nice to be busy all the time.
Speaking of Blaria… why does he seem so angry all the time? And what happened to his face?

Fortisa is the only test subject of the Mind Machine that has survived being hooked up to the machine. She was kidnapped from a young age and has lived nearly her whole life under the influence of the machine which implants simulations into the brain. After Torrin hides her she awakes and is alone in the desert. She meets a merchant named Godorith who takes into the capital city of Sellium. She has a medium to high ranged voice. She often sounds fascinated, distrustful and surprised by the world around her.

Godorith is a merchant who travels to different regions of Alemondra collecting rare and valuable items to sell to wealthy nobles in the capital city of Sellium which is his home. He lives with his mother and younger sister Natalie. He finds Fortisa in the desert and despite thinking she is a little odd and crazy, decides to take her with him to Sellium. He has a medium to low sounding voice. He often sounds amused/light-hearted and can also be very practical and serious.

Natalie is the younger sister of Godorith. She's 12 years old and enjoys going out for long walks in the city and spending time with her friends. Her voice is medium to high in pitch. She often sounds cheerful and excited.

Mary is Godorith's mother. She is very kind and compassionate. While her son is away she makes money by running a laundry/dry cleaning business. She meets people of various ranks and positions due to her job. Her voice can be any range.

Valium is the King of Alemondra. He has been alive for 200 years and his organs are exclusively from young children who are alive when their organs are removed. He is a ruthless dictator who seeks to control his enemies and his allies. Valium wants to find the Mind Machine to be able to quell all rebellion in the Kingdom forever. His voice is medium to low in range. He is very zealous in his speeches, inspiring his soldiers to put their lives on the line but is also very cruel and dark when torturing his enemies.
Welcome gentlemen. In my search of Galvin’s glorious machine, I came across your names. (fake laugh) You five are the original assistants of Galvin.
I’m going to do something even better. You five are going to reconstruct the machine within ten years. If you fail to do so, I will have you executed for your crimes against the kingdom.
We have world peace and are all united under one kingdom. Our superior technology and ways of living must be preserved. I task each and every one of you on a special expedition to find the rebel territory and bring them all to justice
Commander Zhong is the leader of the King’s Army. He is the right-hand man of the King. He is a great strategist and is very loyal to the King. His voice is low in range and his voice is firm and cold.

Hannah is a woman from the Crystalline Region who joins the military illegally (citizens from the Crystalline Region are banned from joining the military). She sees her childhood crush and friend Raynor who is now a captain in the King’s Army. She is a former prostitute and bar owner. Her voice can be any range but she must be able to show a wide variety of emotions.
Dear Ashritha, I hope you and your husband are well. I am soon going to graduate and I have been informed that I have been accepted into the King’s Army. You may very well soon be visiting me in Sellium. With love, Hannah.

Ashritha is the friend of Hannah. She lives in the Crystalline Region with her husband and daughter. She is also a former prostitute and owned a bar with Hannah. She writes letters to Hannah throughout the story. Her voice is medium to high. Ashritha is very optimistic and good-natured. In future episodes, she must be able to portray nervous and scared emotions.

Raynor is the childhood friend and crush of Hannah. He is a Captain in the King’s Army. Commander Zhong captured him, Penelope, and Mike during the Crystalline Massacre. They were spared and forced to join the military because Commander Zhong saw great potential in the invention they used that would be later named the Augmented Jet Pack (AJP). His voice is low in range. He sounds very stoic and matter-of-fact in his tone. He rarely shows any outward emotion.
If you learn to use your grappling hooks to propel you forward without using your air supply you’ll be able to beat anyone.
I don’t like cowards who use unnecessary violence once they’ve won.
Don’t be stupid Anika. She just has a concussion and is talking nonsense. I’ve never seen her before in my life.
Captain Anika is one of the first females to hold a high position in the military. She is very passionate about understanding the reasoning and thinking behind people’s actions. Captain Anika is good friends with Captain Raynor is one of the few military members aside from Commander Zhong who is not afraid to speak to Raynor in a casual manner. She is medium in her voice range and sounds very playful and optimistic most of the time unless in battle.
The AJP was as you know is a favorite tool for every soldier in Alemondra. It allows us to travel quickly when in an area with buildings or trees. We have a training course set up with fake NFF fighters ready to attack. Captain Raynor will be demonstrating how to efficiently use buildings to gather momentum and speed.

Sergeant Zito trains new recruits in the military. He is very strict and demanding of his recruits. He is referred to as the skull man by Hannah for his bony facial structure. His voice is low in range. He often shouts and sounds angry/annoyed unless speaking with equally ranked or higher ranked military officers.
