Adventure Awaits : An Audio Reading (Pokemon)
Project Overview
Hey! My name is Lene, and this is just an audio reading version of my current, ongoing Pokemon Hoennfic, Adventure Awaits!
The story begins with a young girl, Mana, who has a particular interest in the Contest Spectaculars held within different cities in Hoenn. One performer that stands out to her the most, would be Wallace. When her parents offer to take her to one of his performances, she ends up being given the offer and opportunity of a lifetime; to perform with him on stage with her Wurmple! Naturally, she accepts, and her parents don't have much of a choice either. While being on stage, Mana performs perfectly in sync with her Wurmple, and even Wallace with his Milotic (which will soon give her the ability to communicate with Pokemon! But for some unknown reason, she can't communicate with Wurmple!)
This'll be an audio reading recorded, strung together, and spoken about within a group chat on Discord. If you're casted, you will be sent a friend request by Lene#9635, that's me! You have to provide a Discord handle within your audition, otherwise I WILL ignore it! You can read the first chapter of the story here for more context and a better understanding of things.

You'll be the main narrator for the whole story! I would have taken on this role myself, but I'd prefer to let someone else take charge!
Her mother pulled her out of the Contest Hall, tugging on her arm, without saying anything to the cyan-haired man. Wurmple fired a short weaved String Shot in the form of a heart at Wallace, then trailed after them.
Wallace didn’t think he would have to be the one to tell a small, eight-year-old child what the fate of her own two parents were, but here he was. The male officer from earlier had explained to him that her parents were shot down by a Hyper Beam from a wild Gyarados, and were flying above the ocean to go to work. The couple rode on the family’s Flygon, and the three were supposedly missing for at least a day or so, which was why Mana was left home alone.
Mana blinked back tears, the flood dams beneath her eyes breaking. Heaving sobs followed and she fell to her knees. She gasped for air but it just barely came, like her head was underwater, and it might as well have been with how much she broke down. She just… Wanted to hide. From everything, Wallace included. She wanted her parents here and alive, but… That was impossible. Mana’s parents were dead. They were dead and they were never coming back. They’d left her. She hugged her knees and Wallace just reassuringly stroked her back. They’d sat there for a while, until Mana had finally spoken, her voice cracked.
Mana is the lead character in this story, and I want her to have a younger, more high-pitched voice. Though, that idea isn't final, feel free to play around with some voices!
“See, he won another contest earlier! Take a look, take a look!!” (excited, showing her parents)
“Why can't they see that I actually had a huge chance? I FINALLY got to hang out with Hoenn's most well-known contest star, but they totally pulled me away!” (frustrated, angry)
“I.. I feel.. sad.. and afraid.” (mumbling)
“Am I gonna see them again?”
I'm still in the writing process for this character in the story, so the current lines here will not be final.
Aster has a particular talent in cooking, and is working to become a skilled Pokemon trainer and performer alongside Mana. She travels from Lumiose City in the Kalos region to meet up with her best friend, Mana, for the first time after knowing each other for 3 years online only. They meet up with each other at Professor Birch's laboratory in Littleroot Town and pick their starter Pokemon together.
"I can't wait to meet up with you later, Mana! Have you decided on your starter yet?" (happy, excited)
"Mana, use Stardust!" (whispering, sneaking a Pokeball into Mana's pocket)
"Me too, what a day..." (tired)
I'm still in the writing process for this character in the story, so the current lines here will not be final.
Elijah is a person who likes to fend from himself. He's travelled to Hoenn all the way from Goldenrod City in the Johto region after receiving a starter Pokemon (Totodile) from Professor Elm, deciding to start his journey there instead. He is given a Treecko upon arrival, since both of the other starters have been taken by Mana and Aster respectively.
"Hey! That sandwich is mine, old man! I stole it fair and square!" (frustrated)
"Saix, let's go!" [SAY-IX]
"Fine then. Tobu, finish them off!" [TOE-BUU]
"What? You're only a beginning trainer, how are you so strong?! Argh, it doesn't matter! Ki, finish them off!" [KEE] (forcing Mana into a battle, similar tone to the first line)
"I'm bushed..." (tired, barely able to move from his spot)
Mana's mother.
Not much is known about her, however she is a well-known researcher along with her husband, who both work alongside Professor Birch.
“Would you like to go to one of his shows today?”
“Go get ready, and we should be able to leave in an hour or two, OK?”
“Go run up to him and say hello, I'm sure he'd enjoy that,”
“Yes, yes. We see.”
“Isn't she a little too young?”
Wallace is the Gym Leader of Sootopolis City in the Hoenn region, as well as a leading coordinator. He's Mana's mentor, as well as her 'foster father'.
“It's very soft, and I can say you care for it.” (soft, caring)
“No one is too young or too old to flaunt their beauty by dance and spirit.” (proud)
“I am sure your parents loved you very very much. I am sure they were wonderful.”
“But, they have… Passed on. They got hurt. I’m so sorry.” (teary-eyed, sad)
One of two police officers that investigate Mana in Mossdeep.
“We’re going to take you to the police station in Mossdeep City, there are some things that need to be discussed.” (stern, clear)
“Are you going to keep it out like that? It’s fainted, there’s no point.” (annoyed, referring to the fainted Calypso in Mana's arms)
“They had their passports on them. Though waterlogged, we ran the last name through our system, and found where they lived.”
One of two police officers that investigate Mana in Mossdeep.
“Are you able to read?” (stern, a little intimidating)
“So you know who these people are, then?” (questioning, stern)
“Then you should know what comes next.” (approaching Mana, stern)
"Is there a problem, Wallace?" (confused)
"Can I get you two anything?" (happy, greeting Mana and Aster)
"Is she alright? Is she sick?" (confused, questioning Mana about Aster's mood)
Wallace's Milotic has quite an uptight personality. Just like Wallace's other Pokemon, she refers to him as "master".
"Is he not there?" (a little impatient)
"That's fine, I guess.. *sigh*"
"Should we be heading back then, Master Wallace?"
Basically just Wurmple sounds, lol.
"Wurm?"
"Wurm..ple!"
"Wurmple, Wurm-Wurm!"
Mana's second Pokemon and her starter of choice.
"Mud, Mud Mudkip!" (excited)
"Mud.. kip?" (confused)
"MudKIP!" (attacking)
Mana's Taillow; the first Pokemon she caught after receiving Finn from Professor Birch.
"Taillll!" (battle encounter)
"Tail...low..." (defeated, Pokeball is about to be thrown)
"Taillow Tail!" (happy)
Stardust belongs to Aster, and was her Kalosian starter of choice. She's higher leveled compared to the rest of her Pokemon and is a little competitive but still kind.
"Fenne, Fen kin kin!" (battle-ready)
"Fennnneee!!" (defensive)
"Kin!!" (spewing an ember at the enemy)
Kestrel is a happy-go-lucky Pokemon who is always in the perfect mood; Aster caught him in the Kalos region a few years before going to Hoenn.
"Yes, I have! Thanks for asking. What about you? Is Calypso around? I really wanna fly around with her!" (happy)
"Of course, I never leave her side. I'm her sworn protector, no-one gets past me!" (speaking to Calypso, proud)
"Fletchling Fletch!"
Another one of Aster's Pokemon and her Hoenn starter of choice.
"Torchikikiki!!" (attacking)
"Torchic Tor!" (happy)
"Tor..chic?" (confused)
Sahara doesn't come out of her Pokeball very often since she's so timid; Aster caught her in Kalos before moving to Hoenn.
"Lit.. Litleo.." (nervous)
"Litleo? Lit Litleo!" (battle-ready)
Elijah's original starter in the Johto region before running away and retreating in Hoenn.
"Toto?" (confused)
"Dile! Totodile Toto!" (attacking)
"D..Dile..." (deafeated/fainted)
Elijah's starter and secondary partner Pokemon.
"Treeko Tre!" (greeting)
"Tree.. KO!" (battling, sending off an attack)
"Ko..." (fainted)
Haiku belongs to Elijah, he caught it after his battle with Mana.

"I can do it on my own!"

More specifically, this role refers to a man calling Wallace backstage.. but, who knows! You could be here for more than one role, so feel free to submit other lines along with this!

I'm looking for someone who is capable of drawing a cover for the three currently published chapters on AO3, as well as for the thumbnails on YouTube (if this ends up being posted.) You will need the ability to draw people with the proper proportions, as well as being able to draw particular Pokemon upon request. You won't be paid for this, however I'm deeply considering finding a way to place money into my PayPal account so that payment will be possible.
