Super-Duper Entertainment - Voiceover Audition

Super-Duper Entertainment - Voiceover Audition

Project Overview

Who's Super Duper Entertainment?

We're a small group of developers who've been hanging around for a while now! We're most well known for our game, None of Your Business, which is a in-development game made for Godot and coming to Steam! You can find some more basic info about our work here: https://www.youtube.com/@sde_games

Our small team include the following people (for the record I'm one of the only ones here with a Casting Call Club account so I have to list these folks out by hand!):

  • superthe, the lead director and programmer of the group! Also an artist!

  • Nullvix, a music composer, sound designer and artist who's done a bit of programming!

  • DevinMakesStuff, a modeler and an artist who's done a lot of the art and modeling work.

  • reckdave, who assists a lot with the programming!

  • Dandy (that's me!), an artist, sound designer and composer!

Why are we looking for a narrator?

We are looking for a proper narrator voice for use in one of our projects as none of us here can really pull off the kind of voice we're looking for, so we figured we'd hold an audition for this and give it a shot! Apologies if this is a bit rusty: this is our first time doing something like this as we usually keep things in-house instead of reaching out publicly like this, but we figure it's worth a shot and hopefully this will go well!

With that being said, the narrator voice in question is both intended for usage in-game (where the voice will get to shine the most) and some usage for promotional purposes!

A disembodied voice who talks in an over-the-top, cartoonishly pompous and authoritative tone.

For some additional points of reference as to what we're looking for, some examples of the kind of voice we're trying to find include:
- The narrator from The Dover Boys at Pimento University (1942, Warner Bros)
- The How-To narrator from the Goofy How-To short film series from the 1940s and 1950s.

Audition lines are pulled from How To Fish (1942).
