"A Day Before Us" Full Fandub

Project Overview

"A Day Before Us" is a Korean anime on Youtube. It's a cute miniseries that follows four college students and the romances that blossom between them. Though simple, its story is heartwarming and totally worth watching. It's the goal of this dub capture that magic and give more people the chance to experience it in a new way. Thanks for being a part!

I am looking for voices that sound as close to the originals as possible. See update below for more information.

*Notes on Pronunciation: Pronunciation of names, as well as the English script in general may be subject to change since I am not very familiar with the Korean language. A lot will depend on if somebody else involved in the project has knowledge of these things . But for the purposes of this audition:

Ha Eun is going to be said "ha" like "ha ha!" and the second syllable as if it rhymes with "moon"

Yeon Woo is to be said as if the first syllable rhymes with "own" and the second syllable with "blue"

Wook is going to rhyme with "Luke" and not "look"

Yeo Reum is to sound like "you room"

Gun Ha is to sound like "goon ha"

Yena is to rhyme with the end of "Sabrina"

  • Casting!

    Hello everybody! So, after careful deliberation I have finally made my decisions and have started casting. And oh boy, was this a difficult process. I wish there were 6 more roles so I could have more of you awesome people involved with this project! I’ve had the privilege to hear so many incredibly talented auditions, and to every single one of you who participated, I wish you luck with all your future endeavors. And to those of you who have been cast, welcome! I look forward to working with you and I hope you feel the same way. [Note: I am waiting on some outside auditions for Yeon Woo and Gun Ha, so I will not cast them until I hear those, which should be by tomorrow, May 29th.] Best wishes, and thanks again! Puella :)

    I am ecstatic seeing all the great auditions this project has produced so far! However, I realized I made it difficult on all of you by not providing a reference for any of your lines. My goal in this project is to try to have the English voices be as similar in pitch, tone, and style to the originals as possible, but you can't do that if you don't know what they sound like! For your convenience, I've added links to the relevant lines. Feel free to audition again if you feel your original audition did not show off your best impression of the character's original voice. [See project description for notes on pronunciation] Yeon Woo is Yeo Reum's high school friend. He doesn't talk often, and because of this he usually comes off as blunt. Even so, he has a way of packing a lot of meaning into the few syllables he does say.. At first he seems to pay little attention to Ha Eun, but over the course of time his true feelings for her begin to show.
