A Certain Darkness: ACT I
Project Overview
Logline:
When an ancient calamity threatens the very existence of the world, unlikely heroes are forced to band together to put a stop to an eldritch horror or die trying.
A Certain Darkness is a fantasy adventure that I and some of my friends worked on creating a couple of years ago. It is set in an ancient medieval world filled with magic. The story primarily follows Shash EvSkey, a 179-Year-Old Elf, who recently escaped a dungeon after nearly 100 years of wrongful imprisonment. Before he was imprisoned he was a prince to a grand lineage, but a coup killed almost all the royal family. The royals that were left became political prisoners or puppets. His overarching goal is to win the support of his people back and rule once again.
Shash meets several heroes along the way who all accidentally stumble into the hero role. In the beginning, they serve only themselves, eventually, they learn to work together and face down many challenges. Then soon enough they save the world, at a cost.
Note: This will be an ongoing project. As of now, the script is 25pgs. I expect it to be 100ish. Be committed if you want to be along for this journey. So I would like to bring most of the VA's back for the next 3 acts.

Shash is generally more stoic than anything else, but he has a habit of losing his temper. From spending 100 years in a cell he becomes slightly awkward. When speaking with his friends this culture shock is noticeable.

I actually do know what this is.
This is the ancient language of my people. It speaks of magic both light and dark.
Sadly, I can't use use dark magic at all. I do have a shot with light magic though.
The priest is so very impatient. He can snap at any moment, this is evident throughout the story. He is primary antagonistic force the heroes of the story will have to deal with.
You have no time to waste, where has your sense of urgency gone!

Olivia Cooper is a young female rogue, at the age of 22. She usually carries a dark gray cloak around, hiding her appearance. Olivia always carries a yellow guitar on her back. She is constantly plotting, often lost in thought. When she does have something to say, it always sounds oddly threatening.
Some could say I am somewhat of a historian, others could say my family has been very familiar with your family's rule.

One could say I just wasn't in the right frame of mind.
A former half-Devil slave, beaten down by the realities of the world. Despite this she takes a leading role in the groups actions. She steps up as a leader so much, that she is always listened to when she speaks. She is one who dreams of a country where all can belong, one who has the patience to see this through, one who will stop at nothing to complete this quest.
I know this is crazy, and I honestly don't know how we all individually got into this mess,but...

Eldumian is a very old being. A very proficient puppet magic user. It is always talking in a psychotically happy tone that should chill to the bone. One of the antagonists of the series. Eldumian will inhabit multiple bodies, as such if a male and a female voice fit, the role will be split into two parts.

Xora is hiding in plain sight. She is very knowledgeable and wise. She has half dragon blood in her, as such she is way older than she seems. She is the calmest one of the group, but she does heavily worry.
Hey Elf. You wouldn't happen know know this language would you?
(beat) It looks like Elvish, although I can't read it.
I can only recognize a few words...
Kaiser comes from the same family line as Xora. He is very aggressive, except when in combat. The thrill of battle relaxes him, to the point of extreme hubris.
How unlucky. (beat) to have me as your first opponent.
Safe to say, you really don't stand a chance.
Look here you absolute insect, I know being a group was just forced upon us, but If you put the group in danger like that one more time, I will not hesitate to crush you!
This is a rash character. One who attempts to challenge the priest right off the bat, leading to drastic results. This character should come off very entitled as well.
There's no way I'll become some lap dog for a religious maniac. I'm stopping this here and now.
You and I should be able to take a look at the script and decide on a vision of what the character should look like.
