Project Overview

"Ephemeral" is a game project that follows a 17-year-old girl, Otonari Ei, in highschool and her terminally ill childhood friend, Miyazato Hana. They met in elementary through their parents knowing each other. Hana has 7 days left and each day Ei visits her in the bleak hospital room she resides in. Each day, they'll reminisce about their childhood and fun times together, resulting in a flashback sequence that allows the player to go through Ei's childhood with Hana. Hana continues to get worse, becoming pretty much non-verbal on the 7th day.


The title is subject to change, and as the game progresses, I'll need more helpers, so I plan on posting this again when the time comes with different roles available so follow for when there's another post if you don't get picked now. Eventually I plan on having the game fully voice acted as well as its own unique music so there's lots of roles to fill in the future even if there's not something you can do now.


I hope to pay everyone that works on this project, but as of right now I can't. Please don't join in expecting to be paid, especially at the start. The final game will be potentially sold for 1-5 USD with a free demo that'll cover 1 to 3 of the 7 days, depending on how long it takes to complete a day in game. 


Although it's preferred you to be over 16, depending on your skill set people under the age of 16 can still apply BUT people under 14 please don't apply.


This WILL be a long-term project potentially lasting 2-4 years to create and refine. If you are not willing to put in the time. Do not apply.


Finally, please join the discord server! It's required to be in it to work with us and even then so, it'll help you keep up with the game progress even if you're not selected to join the team. It will also announce whenever I'm holding recruitment to join the production of the game!

The main focus is the sprites that'll be headshots but CGs will also be needed. Although since I'm not the best at drawing and this game is in the very early stages, I need help to bring the characters I have imagined to life. The preferred art style would be one similar to "13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim" but I'm open to other artstyles similar to Lucky Star and Nichijou :)

For the pixel art of the game since it'll be in RPG maker and the in game sprites outside of dialogue and overall world will be pixelated! This one is pretty much a free role, all you have to do is manage a discord server with me and you get some insight into the game as it's being made. All you need to do is list your discord and qualifications and if you managed a community before! :) The server is extremely small so I doubt you'll have to do much work at the beginning.

4-koma is a comic strip format, generally consists of gag comic strips within four panels of equal size ordered from top to bottom. All you'd need to do is write a a short comic with a joke and what-not!
Please write a short that could be a 4-koma! It can use any characters it just needs to showcase the joke and how you would portray the joke! i.e [insert character] does something funny and then [insert character 2] says something funny, they stare each other down and then laugh.
As you can see I need some help with this desperately.

4-koma is a comic strip format, generally consists of gag comic strips within four panels of equal size ordered from top to bottom. Your job is drawing out whatever the 4-koma artist has in mind. I would prefer these to be made no more than every 2 weeks or so. It's a relatively hard job if you can't draw all that fast but as it only have 4 small panels I think 2 weeks is good enough.
Please list your discord and your art! It's preferred to have a early 2000's anime artstyle (similar to yotsuba, nichijou, and lucky star) so please replicate that to the best of your abilities. You have a higher chance of getting this job if you submit a 4-koma of your own, it doesn't need to have words, just 4 panels of any characters doing whatever.
