Broadway Boyfriends
Project Overview
Broadway Boyfriends is a coming-of-age rom-com about a young man from Michigan who moves to New York to pursue his dream of making it on Broadway. At just 18, he finds himself in a chaotic shared apartment filled with aspiring artists, all trying to carve out their own paths in the city. As he navigates auditions, rehearsals, and side jobs, he unexpectedly grows close to one of his roommates—someone who turns his world upside down. What starts as just sharing a space soon turns into a romance filled with passion, rivalry, and the realization that some dreams extend far beyond the stage. With charm, humor, and a touch of musical flair, Broadway Boyfriends is a story about big dreams, first love, and the magic of New York City.

Emma is a fierce and outspoken contemporary dancer from Chicago. She’s been in NYC for a few years, juggling dance auditions and bartending shifts to make ends meet. She’s confident, a little chaotic, and always the loudest voice in the room—but she’s also the one who will hype up anyone before an audition.

Zoe moved to New York straight out of high school, dreaming of making it as a singer-songwriter. Unlike Emma, she’s more introverted, but her lyrics hold deep emotions. She often plays her guitar in the apartment, writing songs about love, heartbreak, and the struggles of city life. She’s the heart of the group, always there with a warm cup of tea and the best advice.

Ryan has been in NYC the longest and has seen the brutal reality of the industry. He’s sarcastic, witty, and a little jaded, always claiming he’s "one bad audition away from quitting." But deep down, he still loves performing. He’s the “older brother” of the group, giving tough love but always looking out for his friends.
