Beetlejuice is a ghost from the Neitherworld who is known infamously for pulling pranks on everybody.  However, this bore-quenching hobby of his goes way too far when he does it to his best friend, Lydia Deetz's parents and they blame her and send her up to her room as punishment.  Infuriated by Beetlejuice breaking his promise and the fact that he can't express his apology, Lydia banishes Beetlejuice back to the Neitherworld.  From there, Beetlejuice feels guilty and gravely misses her, saying that he "can't get her out of (his) mind..."

In the live-action movie, Beetlejuice is portrayed by Michael Keaton.  In the cartoon, he's voiced by Stephen Ouimette.  If you would rather stick with one of these two impressions for the audition, that's absolutely fine.  However, what I'm looking for with these takes is the voice of a man with an attitude, almost like a con artist or a player.  And I really want to hear that high-pitched cackle at the very beginning of the first line, so make sure you give it all you've got!  Once again, video reference is in the description, if you need it.
