Backstory: Chiyo Watanabe grew up as an ecstatic and playful child, but because of her green hair she was often bullied, causing her to stay inside and play video games more. Her parents noticed the change and brought her to the zoo, where she regained some of that energy seeing all of the cute animals. The bullying came to an extreme when a nice girl invited Chiyo to meet with her behind the school, and with high hopes Chiyo agreed. When she went there after school, she discovered the two girls who had been bullying her and the "nice" girl. They cut off half of one of her braids before a teacher heard Chiyo's screams. After this incident Chiyo's parents bought a house and moved schools, and with the new school came Chiyo's long thought-out hairstyle: two cute buns that resembled hamster ears. She became obsessed with idol games and anime which lead to her interest in becoming an idol herself. She prepared for I MY ME's auditions as best as she could but was declined a spot. However, when she arrived home her parents presented her with a new pet: a hamster! She was so happy and cared for the hamster, Momo, all night long. One of the producers couldn't stop thinking about Chiyo's potential, and after a long time considering, they called her and asked if she would be interested in a position. Her parents were very proud and she moved into one of idol dorms to begin her tough training. After passing, it took a long time for her to be assigned to a project.
