[CLOSED] Brave New World: The Final Chapter
damann0012 for Samuel Kerr
CHANGED AND NEW REQUIREMENTS:
Age and appearance: Greying hair, has a 25 year old daughter, a bartender, older, gravely voice, beard, portly build. A bartender.
Accent: Southern or Northern-American
Age: 40+
Tone: Medium deep to deep
This audition actually has all of his lines in the game. You do *not* have to voice all of them in the audition. Choose whichever lines you feel work for you.
REQUIREMENTS:
I changed the requirements. I just want this character to sound like he could pass for 55 years old. And that's it. He shouldn't sound too articulate, ie. a doctor. But more of a blue collar. Would be great if he could have a Southern accent but I'm open to all types of voices. I've attached a sample of actual voice-over artists and voices I felt would work.

Simple explanation of the role:
He needs to have a clear mic. He can act. And he sounds like he could pass for 45-60++ years old. I won't get fooled by a young VA trying to pull off an older voice.

(Introducing you to the bar)
Welcome to the 188 Slop & Shop. Like our slogan says, (laughs in between, small short chuckle) "It's better than nothing."
(Looking for drinks and making you a drink)
You bet.
Let me see what I can do for you.
(Sees you again)
Feeling thirsty ?
(He’s asked, “Is this place safe”?”)
Is this place safe? …. This place is as safe as it gets…..... There's been reports of trouble down south, but me and Michelle can handle ourselves….And there's plenty of soldiers about, so that helps.
(He’s asked, “Why is business so good here?”
Because this is the only stop left…... When 15 shut down...95 became the route NCR citizens use to get to the Strip….. And *this* stop right here is where it’s at….One way or another…... they’re sittin’ in *these* chairs. If they hit it big, they’re drinkin….and…..well....if they didn’t hit it big....you bet your ass they’re still drinkin’ here.....
(talking and explaining about why and how they escaped from Primm)
Michelle and I used to run a little shop down in Primm.
Course there was a prison break north of town…..Bunch of inmates got out and it was hell….. They just about shut down I(eye)-15…….When traffic dried up, we took to our heels to find us some customers…...We skipped town *real* fast. There was no way we were staying back there.(introducing himself)
Samuel Kerr at your service. Me and my daughter Michelle run this fine establishment. We came here from Primm about a month past…... Doesn't look like much, but it's one hell of a location.
(thanking you)
Well..thank you traveler..... It’s good to know that there’s still good people in this world.
(saying goodbye)
Goodbye.
Issues with the mic. The voice is much too young for the role. At first...I felt it might fit for more of a rogue...but the voice later shifts between a shady-type player and then later to a younger voice. Main issue is the mic though.
Thank you for the response could you tell me what precisely what you thought sounded wrong with my mic. Would help a lot! And if you could also tell me what mic would be the best in your opinion to make it better!
It's actually hard to explain. But you pick up on it after a while. In the beginning, I wasn't able to hear pops and static. But after about 2 years of this, you start to pick up on every little nuance. But to answer your question, it sounds muffled. Almost like a headset and not a microphone. If you are using a mic, something is wrong with the settings.
If you could tell me what you think would be the best mic to use that would be great! I'm going mic shopping tomorrow after I get off work to get a better mic.
