Rick has been leading his team of Rangers for around half a year after their former CO was killed in action. While he's still relatively new to leadership, especially being forced into it so quickly, he's still getting used to it while maintaining a confident and level headed attitude about his role.

Rick is well educated, but rather ignorant when it comes to culture. He's well spoken and always speaks with control and authority, but his familiarity with other Varkon characters and the "law of the land" in the Crawl means he falters regarding those topics, becoming more reserved and anxious his situation. But this persona he's built of always knowing what to do leaves a lot of frustration brewing just beneath the surface.

EDIT: He's only 29, a lot of auditions have made him out to be in his 40's. He's a fighter but he doesn't have that grizzled and brooding attitude to him, he just needs to sound like a normal dude. He's dragged his team into something way over their heads, and part of his development is accepting that responsibility and getting them out of it. The idea of his character is that he doesn't sound like an experienced leader. But he is a grown man.

  • *Trying to reassure someone.*Rick: No one's gonna fight us. Not there. There's only one rule out here and breaking it's a death sentence. I doubt anyone's that stupid.Kish: You doubt a lot of things. The place with no rules has one rule and you expect a bunch of desperate criminals to follow it?Rick: Well, there's plenty of caves around here if you're that chicken shit. You can go and camp out in one of those and we'll let you know when we're ready to move. How's that sound?

  • *Talking about a "rival" figure that's out here in the Crawl.*Rick: What is he doing out here? Any volunteers?Kish: For what?Rick: For asking him.Kish: *Sharply* It's none of our business, why would you do that?Rick: Don't you fucking talk to me like that. If it's not our business you've got no reason to get all pissy about em. Now shut up.Kish: Hmph.Mia: If he's here, it must be for something big... Might be our business...Rick: No, we're not getting caught up in some RCS crap. We've got enough to worry about as it is.

  • *After he nearly gets into an unwinnable fight because of Kish, he loses his cool.*

    Rick: Oh you don't know?! You don't know! Mia, you know right!? Tell him why they call him the stoneskin.

    Mia: Mutation caused his scales to be incredibly resistant to signs of stress. Even to the point of being bulletproof.

    Rick: BULLETPROOF KISH! BULLET - PROOF! He would have ripped my damn head off! All because of you you bitter piece of sh*t! And you have the cheek to call them savages!

    Kish: They are savages!

    Rick: I swear to god I'm gonna kill you!-

    Mia: Will the two of you shut the hell up?!
