Hey! Thanks for auditioning for BLUE HOUR. I really liked what you brought to Archer Moss, and you're currently a high candidate for the role.

Before I make any casting decisions, I'd love to hear a short callback that shows a few different sides of Moss. He's normally calm and controlled, with a dry sense of humor, but he also has a much more personal storyline involving Colt, his childhood best friend.

Could you record these three lines?

Overwatch / professional:“Movement, second floor. Left window. No weapon visible. Mercer, I've got eyes on him.”

Dry humor with Koval:“Koval.”[beat]“Nothing. Just checking if you'd answer.”

Personal / serious:“People hear where you're from and think they know the rest of your story. Took me a long time to realize I didn't owe anybody the ending they expected.”

Don't worry about adding radio effects or processing. I'd rather hear your natural performance.

Archer Moss is the designated sharpshooter/overwatch operator for Sacramento Metro SWAT and a recurring character in BLUE HOUR: Sacramento.

Moss grew up in Stockton and has a rough past, including former gang involvement, before eventually turning his life around. He later served in the Army and ultimately entered law enforcement. His past isn't his entire personality—it gives him perspective that some of the other officers don't have.

Moss is street-smart, observant, disciplined, loyal, and extremely patient. He's comfortable joking with the team, but when he's behind a rifle or watching an operation from overwatch, he becomes quiet and intensely focused.

We are looking for a Black adult male voice actor with a natural, contemporary American/West Coast delivery. Do not exaggerate slang or perform a stereotypical "gangster" voice. Moss should sound authentic, intelligent, experienced, and relaxed.

Performance style: natural, calm, confident, slightly gritty, dry sense of humor, with strong emotional range when needed.

This is a recurring character in BLUE HOUR: Sacramento.
