Completely changing his initial personality from the show, Our version of Boom Shadow is very similar to that of Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z. Shadow, early in the show (Rewrite), is aggressive and egotistic. He is always calling himself “The Ultimate Hedgehog” and will stop at nothing to prove that. Shadow retains an eternal rivalry with Sonic, though he never outwardly admits what his problem with him is. It is eventually revealed that Shadow used to be Sonic’s brother, separated at birth, and he actually wasn’t called Shadow at all. In fact, Shadow looked very similar to Sonic, albeit with his white chest fur and attire. He was killed in an unknown assault on the town he lived in, and was revived by Lyric, turning him into “His Shadow”, as well as altering the way he looks to how we see him today. One possibility of Shadow’s hostility is his change in personality due to Lyric’s influence, even after the Snake has been long defeated.

On the flip side, Shadow is shown to be a bit comical and have at least a sense of humor, such as purposefully letting Eggman fall during a “Trust fall” exercise, or when he broke the 4th wall when fighting Sonic, where he asked “Why are you even doing this Shadow? I didn’t do anything to you!”, and Shadow responds “Because the plot can’t progress unless I do”. Shadow also extremely dislikes Eggman, mostly seeing him as an obstacle whenever he’s trying to enjoy a fight, and unlike his canon universe counterpart, isn’t against killing Eggman when pushed to the limit of his patience.

Humorusly, Shadow knows how popular he is, and it only adds to his ego of needing to live up to that standard.

While voiced by Kirk Thornton in the show, I don’t like the voice that is used, and while I was going to voice him myself, I want him to sound different from Canon Shadow, so go for a voice similar to Christopher Sabat’s Vegeta.
