(lower, honest) “If this works… the museum stays open. My treatment continues. Everything keeps going.”
“Troy! Hey, you made it.” (Then Responds to Troy with a subtle giggle) “Yeah, We have a couple events coming up for the kids, They seem to love it when we have them.” (In a funny like whisper) “Especially when we can afford it” (Then back to normal, Responding to Troy) “Hopefully your brother is able to come to this next one” (Then switching back and forth in a playful like tone) “and since we have the budget this time too, like, we can actually add those ‘Digital Interactive Screens’ for the less exciting exhibits, we were trying desperately to add last year” (They both just laugh it off while talking) “No, I’m serious. Do you not remember that one kid pulling on his mom’s arm to get her away from the arrowhead exhibit? He was one second away from calling it a ‘weapon shop.’ Like, For real” (Then response to Troy) “I mean—yeah, it’s always been the least exciting… That’s why we’re putting a screen there—well I am. Does that mean your vote doesn’t count anymore—since you won’t be here anymore—Well—you’re here right now—like after you leave it won’t count, does that make sense?” (Then response to Troy) “Ok-I thought so… Talking about arrowheads made my own head— (Her phone rings) “Oh?, One moment.”
(Worried) “You be safe, all right?”
