ׁ ៹ Threads of Fate: A Greek Mythology Project ׅ ੭
MatthewT for Hephaestus - CLOSED
In Greek mythology, Hephaestus is the God of Fire and Craftsmen.
In this project, he will have a major presence in the core story and will have appearances in some of the side stories.
Hephaestus may not appear as often as some of the other characters, but this is primarily because I intend for him to be someone interested in his solitude and privacy, especially when it comes to his position as Olympus' blacksmith. He spends a lot of time away from others in his forge, often getting lost in his work and meticulously making sure it's perfect. I imagine him having a rougher voice from the smoke that he deals with. My goals for his characterization are for him to be someone who doesn't purposely stand out, keeping to himself as much as possible when on Olympus, but having a bit of anger and rage that occasionally breaks out when it matters concerning his personal relationships (his mother or his relationship with Aphrodite and subsequently Ares).

(Toward Hera, Unforgiving) You cast me from the heavens once. Yet my creations returned me to them. Now I've built my place among the gods. Piece by piece.
(Toward Athena, Contemplative) Wisdom and craftsmanship walk similar paths. You design strategies and I design weapons. Both require careful thought. Precision is everything in what we do.
(Toward Aphrodite, Remorseful) Love is complicated. Metal is much simpler. A hammer's strike is honest. The heart is less so.
