Hello!

My name is Matthew Thomasson. I am a 27-year-old Actor based in Greater Manchester and have recently shifted my focus into the Voice acting world. I have been a freelance actor for almost a decade now and have primarily worked in live theatre and entertainment.

English is my native language and I do have a natural northern accent, though I can tone it down to be more neutral should that be required, and can do a broad Scottish / Celtic accent should that be required for a character, one of my favourite hobbies is Dungeons & Dragons where I have spent man many hours playing characters with all kinds of accents and voices, though I am not trained in any in particular I find it a joy to perform them and in my professional life am not at all against seeking an accent coach to prefect a voice should that be necessary!

My Voice

I am a natural storyteller with a gift for character-driven work. I can create grounded, battle-worn characters with emotional weight or deliver clear and bright reads perfect for conveying information cleanly and effectively. My passion is in performance and character, having had a background in live theatre, so larger than life roles like wizards and orcs are no stranger to me, but I am also capable of friendly and bright reads from narration and corporate videos, to audiobooks and commercials, There's nothing I won't try and don't give my all to doing! I sound smooth, with a full-bodied tone that commands attention, with strength and presence.  My voice is rich, immersive, and made for storytelling.

Equipment

I record using a Sennheiser MK4 condenser microphone and Studio One editing software, Iso cube with pop filter and foam sound dampening panels to create my tracks in my home studio, but I also thrive in a booth under face-to-face direction and would welcome to opportunity to travel to any studio for work or be remotely directed for a recording session if that is your preference.
