GLORY DAYS (2D Student Film)
Richard Gibson for Professor Felix Fenix
Professor Felix Fenix is the villainous antagonist of 'Glory Days,' a short film about an aging superhero meeting with his arch rival for the final time before he turns a new leaf. It plays around with time and shows Fenix at two different points in his life, which is an integral factor when considering voice work.
Applicants must be able to act as a shrill, mad scientist character, similar to Doctor Doofenshmirtz or other comedic villains, that fits with the 60's Saturday morning cartoon vibe of the film's first half, as well as an older, calmer and better adjusted version of the character who is visibly and audibly aged and is beginning to find peace within himself. Balancing these two voices is vital to landing the role.
For voice reference, Doctor Doofenshmirtz really is the best example, but feel free to have your own take on the character as long as it feels crazy and in-keeping with the character shown in the animatic. The older version should lose almost all of the comedic delivery and pivot into sincerity, while still noticeably being the same person. It will be a hard role to pull off, but I look forward to seeing what everyone has to offer. Also please look into deliveries from old cartoons such as 'Superfriends' and similar shows from that 60's - 70's era, as well as the animatic for intonation (and to laugh at my crappy scratch audio).
I have offered some audition lines, but the dual-voice-style nature of the film, means that sampling extra lines from the animatic may allow me to get a better understanding of your performance of each version of the character.

I'm done with villainy, really! (Old Fenix)
I'm just... all burnt out, Gale. We've done this arch rival business for twenty years. (Old Fenix)
