Bio: The Original Field Leader of the X-Men and is well known (and more than occasionally mocked) for being one of Professor X’s best students. Cyclops’ Mutant Power is that he can fire energy blasts from his eyes called Optic Blasts in which his visor helps him control that (though he is also an accomplished Martial Artist as his specialties are Judo & Aikido). Scott Summers takes his duties as Team Field Leader very seriously though this often causes him to butt heads with other team members on a regular basis. However while he is a serious-manned young leader right from the start he can have some moments of levity such as how like most of the guys he was quickly smitten by Jean Grey (whom they have a relationship later). But when Scott is not being Cyclops he wears a pair of Ruby Quartz Glasses to control his Optic Blasts and was at first given the nickname “Slim” due to this rather thin body. (Though in latter stories he becomes rather buff & fit, he also becomes a lot more serious but considering what happened to the X-Men it’s rather understandable.) Oh yes and he is the only young member of the Team that will appear in both stories and get plenty of lines.

(Note: Since Cyclops was a teenage in X-Men Issue 1 feel free to go for a somewhat lighter tone there but as Cyclops is older & more muscular in Giant-Size X-Men feel free to make your Cyclops voice go a bit deeper but not by a lot.)

  • (X-Men Issue 1, Eager to
follow commands) Yes, Sir! Professor! Everything is ready!(X-Men Issue 1, Angrily
scolding his teammates) Look, you two clowns… be more careful next time!
That bowling ball just missed the Professor by a whisker! That kind of
    horseplay isn’t funny!

  • (X-Men Issue 1, Very eager
to meet Jean Grey) You’re right, sir! WOW! She’s a real living doll!(Giant-Size X-Men 1,
Dramatic Exposition) The “details”, people, are depressingly simple! You
have been called here because—the X-Men have disappeared!

  • (Giant-Size X-Men 1, Shocked
& Concerned) What is it, sir? Cerebro has never reacted so violently
    before.(Giant-Size X-Men 1, Firm
& Authoritative) You heard the Professor, X-Men—it’s travelin’ time!
