Role assigned to: Godknight

Voice Range: Medium-Low - Medium-High

Reference: Japanese / English
Our main character with as much personality as a sponge and intelligence of a shounen protagonist.
All kidding aside, Corrin is a righteous prince with a strong ambition; to end the war with no bloodshed. He seeks to save all that he can, enemy or not. He is charismatic when is needs to be and always kind to his friends and family.

I much prefer his Japanese voice over his English voice, although both takes are solid. The Japanese voice has a softer and younger tonality to it that really makes him sound like a young, naive protagonist whilst the English went hammy on the protagonist aspect.

This role has the most amount of lines. Do not attempt to audition if you know you will not stick to this character for a long time.

  • I was just thinking about my siblings. I’ve got quite a few. Do you have any brothers and sisters?

  • I'm Corrin—born in Hoshido, though raised in Nohr. I will fight for you with my Yato blade and dragon power!

  • (During a confession, other character ask about Corrin's feelings for her)
...Fine, I’ll give you an answer. But to clarify, I only started feeling this way AFTER you told me the truth about us. I love you, too...

I do like the voice you have for Corrin. One thing that's holding your audition back is the acting itself. It sounds a bit monotonous or dull in delivery and most importantly, quite slow in speed. There is a constant rhythm to the way you deliver your lines which is why is makes it sound monotonous. Try switching it up. Maybe put some extra emphasis on this word here, stretch out the word here, make it a bit fast here, so on and so forth. I would like the first line to be delivered like Corrin was in a conversation with someone (in context he is talking to you, the player). Imagine how you would sound like if you were talking to someone you didn't know too well. I'd imagine you would wanna sound friendly and give off a nice vibe. For the second line. It should be delivered with more intensity and hype. It sounds like you do have a bit more intensity and emotion, but it also sounds like its more like hype rather than confidence. The final delivery sounds more like Corrin is about to charge right into battle rather than introducing himself to someone as a strong all. Again, let's put yourself in the character's shoes. Corrin in this context is introducing himself. He is a prince born with dragon's blood. He wants to sound confident. Enough to win your trust and to have you rely on him whenever you need help. And again, speed up your delivery a tad as well especially for this line. Usually lines where you are trying to sound confident, It's delivered with more speed as opposed to just conversational banter. For this second line, I say study some scenes where an exciting character is introduced in whatever you like to watch. Listen to how they say their lines. Are they going fast, slow, intense, quiet, flamboyant, ? Thinking about these traits will help you get into character. The last line was the most flat compared to the other two. This is a confession scene. These are the type of scenes where you really pour in all of the emotions. Here is it acceptable to speak at your tempo. In the performance, I couldn't hear nervousness or uncertainty, maybe even a little embarrassment would compliment this line. I feel like a broken record, but again, if you put yourself in this situation, how would you feel if you were asked to suddenly confess your feelings to someone you likes? It's all about wearing the shoes and feelings those emotions rather than having a good voice, which I do like your voice for this character. I think it sounds very fitting for Corrin. However, I always stress to everyone I can, the acting part of "Voice acting" is alot more important than the voice part. If you'd like, I do not mind working one on one with you to improve your audition even if I do not decide to cast you. I would like for you to try again with a new audition for this character if possible because I do think you have a good voice for the role. The acting can be improved with direction and I would like for you to carry over any improvement into future auditions and roles.

Ahh, thank you so much for the in-depth feedback! I'm always a little antsy while being live directed, but if you would bear with me, I'd be absolutely overjoyed to have you work one on one with me.
