Project: Fleur
Edna Rose for Emilie Bellerose
Character Description
Emilie Bellerose is the matriarch of the family and a once-renowned pianist. She passed her musical talents to her daughters, though her teaching was laced with cruelty and abuse. Emilie demands perfection and views compassion as weakness. Her sharp tongue and controlling nature linger over every interaction, shaping the fragile lives of her children. Though her presence is domineering, Emilie is central to the psychological weight of the story—her voice eventually replaces the murmuring crowd in Fleur’s nightmare performance.
Requirements
A thick French accent, heavier than both Nora’s and Elise’s.
A commanding, sharp delivery—her voice should cut through even in quiet moments.
Must be able to reprise this role in future projects.
Performance Tips
Keep your tone authoritative, even when soft—Emilie’s words should always feel inescapable.
Practice a sharp, dismissive laugh or scoff to punctuate your lines.
Imagine every line as if you’re correcting a child’s mistake—patience worn thin, superiority unshaken.

*sarcastic* So (zeus)this is the new age parenting you told me about. It’s quite effective.
*haunting* You stupid broad! You are talentless! Hopeless!
*I’d like you to scream as if your body were engulfed in flames. Let the pain build and move through you—make it physical, believable, almost unbearable. Then, as the anguish subsides, transition into the final line with raw vulnerability.* Emilie: I've always loved you.
You perform the second line phenomenally. I almost dismissed you at first because the delivery on the opening line wasn’t very strong, but with some light coaching I can see you excelling in this role. Good luck with final casting! SHORTLISTED
