Mordun's older self serves as the narrator of the story. He has no significance to the actual events, though does have many lines, with it being an audiobook and such. He is a drunken 'washed up old-timer' who served in the Interitus war. He hates how he messed up everything, by assuming things. He realises how stupid he was
Years go past, don't they, old friend? Once we were kids playing in the garden. Now look at us. Washed up old-timers with nothing better to do apart from bitching about the past and saying how wrong we were. Irony is a bitch. How is that ironic? Oh. You'll see.
