Tomoyo's mother, and cousin of Nadeshiko, Sakura's mother. Sonomi adores Sakura much like Tomoyo does, treating her as her own daughter. The main reason is that Sakura is the daughter of Nadeshiko, whom she had protected and loved since kindergarten. Nadeshiko died at the age of 27, three years after giving birth to Sakura. Sonomi initially blames Nadeshiko's death on Fujitaka, who was Sonomi's and Nadeshiko's teacher in high school.

  • "You're staying for dinner, right?" (Calling out, excitedly)

  • "Nadeshiko's wedding bouquet. She loved cherry blossoms. She even told me that if she ever had a daughter, she would name that little girl, 'Sakura. That little girl is you." (reminiscing, sadly at first, but then happily)
