Why should I audition for a minor/extra role?
At the start of any of my projects I always hold a closed round which typically includes people I know and trust. While main VA's can play these types of characters, variety is important to creating a believable soundscape and differianted characters. By auditioning and getting a minor role you improve your chances to get a larger role during a closed round after I have seen that your are reliable/trustworthy.
(Introducing herself) My hobby is listening to music. Nice to meet you all.
So for this audition it just feels so over the top. It feels more like a caricature than a character and made it hard to cast you for the role. Also as a note always keep your head in the same position when recording your lines. Moving your head about especially with an XLR mic will cause all sorts of issues. With this one it causes the proximity effect and makes it hard to cast you as it's hard to say if I can coach you out of doing that. It's one of the hard things to do. To move your lower body but keep your upper body/head still and in the same place.
