Adventurous and free spirited, maybe a bit reckless too, his daughter takes after him very well. But as a young dad he isn’t quite sure how to discipline or handle such a wild and energetic girl. He’s kind and would much rather play with his daughter than discipline her but in this short we see him do his best as he comes up with a ghost-story to try and keep her safe.
Age wise I’d say mid 20’s to mid 30’s range will work. Shouldn’t sound like a teenager though, and not an old/mature man either.
This character only shows up for one flashback sequence, but due to the nature of the sequence he ends up being one of the characters with the most lines. One scene in particular lasts over a minute and its just him telling his ghost story so that's a key moment.The film as a whole is around 6:30 to 7 minutes long but around half of it is essentially without dialogue.
If you can read the scrip before recording the audition lines it should help give a bit more context to the scenes.

Shot 23 - Mid shot of the girl looking over the edge, we see the dad’s boots in shot as he takes the last step and then taps his foot to get her attention. Dad- You know you aren’t supposed to lean over the edge like that….
Shot 29 - He crouches down, looks seriously into the girls eyes. "Well I am scared, and here’s why you should be too…." The girls curiosity is piqued and she looks at her dad questioningly, "I didn’t want to tell you this, but there’s no other way to convince you not to go near the cliffs." *clears throat* "-Below the clouds, roam the restless spirits of pilots who’ve died or gotten lost in the past..."
