RPG Maker Video Game Demo: (Male Antagonist VA Needed!)
Séamus for Wrath
The Sin of Wrath, otherwise known as Hayes Rast, is the Antagonist of Our Dying World. At the start of the game most of the characters who know him seem to view him as different to how he once was... Wrath is, as his name would suggest, wrathful. He has a lot of strength and power, and his voice should be able to reflect this. Commanding a room, declaring war, all these things should seem normal for a character like Wrath. He is usually calm and collected, but when provoked, Wrath is quick to anger, as seen in some of the voice lines above. There is certainly a lot more to his character than first meets the eye...
Voice Description: We're looking for a more mature-natured voice, but the timbre could be anything--we're open to interpretation. While Wrath might be technically middle aged, there is a handful of lore reasons as to why he could sound younger, so 22-36 is around the range for the voice.
Accents: We're mostly looking for a North American accent--that being said we are open to hearing the character read with all kinds of accents so long as they sound natural.
Please follow the line directions in (parenthesis) and feel free to do 2-3 takes.
(Wrath's acquaintances are not giving him what he wants, resulting in him needing to take it by threatening Greed's life)
(Growling) Now then, Pride, why don’t you hand me the dagger? Unless you want me to start squeezing...! Come on, don’t be stupid here.
(frustrated at one of the few people he respects, Wrath is trying to convince him that General Havran should join his cause, but the man is set on remaining defiant)
(growling, frustrated) You’re so close, Havran… So close to perfection! It would be a waste to have Sloth revive you after you die. Her strings would only limit you. Become a demon and work with me! If you accept my offer, I’ll leave the fallen angels untouched! You’ll have fulfilled your duty.
(Havran refuses and says he is going to make it so he can't become a puppet)
(yelling, angry) HAVRAN!
(Leaving, Wrath is condescending, because these people used to be his friends at one point, but he isn't above killing them if they do get in his way.)
(darkly) Normally, I would have just killed you for not listening to me, but I decided against it. After all, you did help set these grand events into motion. I owe you two as much. Stay out of my way in the future. I won’t be so charitable next time.
Hello Seamus! A lot of your takes are good, in terms of feedback, I'd say maybe sit back from your mic a little bit? Your plosive consonants (such as b, p, t, and k) are all sounding a little explosive in the mic, and they pop. Also some of the readings have a very similar cadence to them, like in example, the second line: "You're so close... so close to perfection!" is the same tone of voice as the rest of it, so some variation in tonal quality would really push the audition. Something that is really helpful for me is to pull apart my lines. What is this line trying to *get* to, like... what is the crux of the line, or the most important part...? And then I build my cadence around that important part. Hopefully that's helpful in some way! Thank you so much for auditioning.
