Batman: Night of the Owls
Learning How to Swing from the Ropes for Batman/Bruce Wayne
I am willing to pay for this part. I think the importance of the voice requires that I do so. We all know Batman. But each person can bring their own interpretation of the Batman voice to life. I would work with you very closely to find make sure each line reading is perfect and has impact to the narrative. You have to be able to carry a bravado and charisma while also sounding intimidating. I want an intensity to the part but still being able to speaker softer in Batman voice. When he's drugged I don't need him to sound super rah-rah intensity, tonally low yet vulnerable. There are portions of the dialogue that is muttering and under his breath. I enjoy the softer Batman voice that Pattison does but I implore all of you to send me your own interpretation. I would love for you to join me and play my lead!
I just want to hear your perspective for the character. Some lines below work well as Batman.
"I think this is all coming to an end. I think I'm his last target."
"Why am I here? What've you done!" (Try 'Why am I here?' in a tonally deep but almost muttering, whispering voice.
"Fear is a tool. When that light hits the sky. It’s not just a call. It’s a warning."
These work better for Bruce Wayne.
"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can’t do that as Bruce Wayne.""It's happening now- Harvey is that hero. He locked up half the city's criminals, and he did it without wearing a mask. Gotham needs a hero with a face."
