Eastmouth: Season 2 (Small Town Mystery/Adventure/Horror)
Vivian Thane (She/They) for Sylvia Laurent
Sylvia Laurent runs the local florist shop, Sylvia's Flowers. She has a naturally timid personality unless she is directly confronted. Intense and aggressive would be understatements of how her personality changes if she feels threatened.
Initially, she is the opponent running against Deborah for a stronger share of power in the town council, but upon losing, she decides to subvert Deborah at any turn she can. Her idea fails miserably as her mind is wrecked along with the other town council members by the pull of the artifact.
She's a strong proponent of cleaning up any corruption or injustice that she finds within the town. At times, this even leads her to agree with the more extremist views of teacher and fellow council member Edna Beechworth.
[Her election speech at the summer festival has been ruined by an elaborate 'prank' played upon her by Deborah and Aldo. She stands on the stage, entirely conflicted between bursting into tears and stabbing Deborah right then and there. She attempts to begin the speech, but she's already in shambles.] "My f-friends and constituents. W-we can make this... No, we have already started. (pause) The housing p-project is where... our... divide... (pause) I just can't do this." [She angrily storms off stage.]
[Her timid personality has wavered as one of the kidnapped victims has just spat at her. (angry and predatory)] "I'm a florist. Do you know how many ways I can snip you without killing you?" [She's stopped by Aldo, who reminds her that the said victim isn't the one to be sacrificed. Her demeanor gradually falls back to timidity.] "Oh, dear. Y-you're right. I must restrain myself. It's that blissful fuzz. I c-cant... I must."
