Sole Twin Audios presents The Turn of the Screw
Theodore Perez for Extras (Seeking ten total voices here)
I mention these are "extras" but this is just all the other characters may pop up in the story. I'm adapting it as originally intended, a frame story. You'll have the guests at the house, the woman relaying the story, the children's uncle (at least one scene), and possibly the ghosts themselves! All types of voices and ranges welcome to audition!
I quite agree—in regard to Griffin’s ghost, or whatever it was—that its appearing first to the little boy, at so tender an age, adds a particular touch. But it’s not the first occurrence of its charming kind that I know to have involved a child. If the child gives the effect another turn of the screw, what do you say to two children—?
This, I recognize, is from the headmaster, and the headmaster’s an awful bore. Read him, please; deal with him; but mind you don’t report. Not a word. I’m off!
(creepy/taken from the classic film, "The Innocents") *This will give you a lot to play around with. Make it creepy and scary. I will definitely use a portion of this if I end up including the ghosts!
What shall I sing to my lord from my window? What shall I sing for my lord will not stay? What shall I sing for my lord will not listen? Where shall I go when my lord is away? Whom shall I love when the moon is arisen? Gone is my lord and the grave is his prison. What shall I say when my lord comes a calling? What shall I say when he knocks on my door? What shall I say when his feet enter softly? Leaving the marks of his grave on my floor. Enter my lord. Come from your prison. Come from your grave, for the moon is a risen. Welcome, my lord.
