Eneras is a middle-aged mage, though he’s pretty good with magic he has no experience when it comes to warfare, so he is crippled by responsibility since he’s in charge of an army. His actions are cowardly and self-preserving at first, but throughout the story he learns to step up and take responsibility.

"I need to see the Sorcerer, right away!"
(assertive)
"Then you should go on ahead to the base camp. I have business with the elves, but I’ll meet you there as soon as I can." "I said, get ready. By dawn tomorrow, we’ll have to stand our ground. Take heart! We are humanity’s last line of defence, and I swear, we will win. We have the Sorceress on our side, she’ll carry us to victory!"
(remorseful)
