While sweet and cheerful on the surface, Yamai is a total psychopath whose only goal in the world is to have Komi all to herself. She's madly in love with her and resorts to extreme methods to get what she wants. She takes the role of the leader of the "cool girls" in class, and is overall pretty bratty and snide. She'll play innocent, but believe me, her heart is a dark abyss of pure lust.
She's basically a character from mean girls so do with that what you will. (Warning: I have literally never seen mean girls lol.)
(While she acts smiley and cheerful, in reality, she only cares about re-establishing her superiority to all around her. The last line should be less smiley and more obviously blunt and aggressive.)
"So, What do you need? Oh, nothing? Really? Then stop talking to me."
(Aggressively ranting at a nervous Tadano, who simply wanted to ask her to be friends with Komi.)
"Huh?! How dare you speak such a hallowed name?! Refer to her as 'Her Highness,' loser! Don't get presumptuous just because you sit next to her scumbag! You're less than horse poop, so you should be thankful you breathe the same air as her you arrogant scumbag! Scumbag, scumbag, scumbag, scumbag, scumba-"
(Making fun of a nervous girl who's struggling to speak without stuttering. Playful but derogatory.)
"(laughing) Be aggressive! B. E. Aggressive!"
