Personality (taken from the Gunnerkrigg wiki, with a few minor edits for spoiler reasons)
- [Zimmy] has a generally grumpy attitude, displaying a short temper and a general disdain for those around her, with the notable exception of Gamma, and, later on, Antimony Carver as well. In general, she tends to avoid other people, and doesn't like to be watched.
- She has also been shown to have a mischievous, if somewhat dark, sense of humour. She speaks with a broken Birmingham accent and has a tendency to swear more than the other characters.
My Notes
Zimmy is remarkably weird, even by Gunnerkrigg standards. We learn more about her in future Books, but for the sake of Book 1 Part 1, she's presented as cranky, confrontational, and in a more subtle sense, quite bitter and jaded for her age. Something is up with her.
[ Zimmy has reasons she may not be able to trust her memory, and this line shows her general wariness and dislike for other people. (The misspelling of Antimony's name in this audition line is intentional.) ]
Hey I know you! Yer that new girl… Amtinomy, right? Yeah, that’s it.
[ Zimmy confronts a hidden Reynardine. This is not the first time she's had to convince others of an unseen enemy, which might lend to her sounding a bit paranoid here. ]
Come out, you little git! I know yer in there!
[ Zimmy may like to pick fights, but she also knows when to pick her battles. She disengages and leaves before Annie can make things right about a misunderstanding. ]
Whatever. I don't need yer apologies. I've 'ad enough of this.
