Role assigned to: ALevel1Bard

This book is full-cast for all dialogue, but because its in 3rd person I'd like to have a narrator throughout. If you audition for this role please be sure you'll be able to remain onboard throughout the entire project (until at least the end of May.) I'm looking for a pleasant, easy to listen to, and expressive voice. Gender doesn't matter, I'll cast whoever I think does best with the read.

If you'd like to narrate for this book you must be comfortable with suggestive subject matter. Though not explicit/nsfw, there are scenes of sexual nature throughout the book, and the story has a romance-heavy focus. You also need to be able to take dragon-shifters, fairies, and other fantasy subjects seriously.

  • Lynn remembered, quite vividly, the first time she saw Azir Danthragnir's eyes.

The way they watched her intently, unwavering and curious. The way they shimmered and shifted in color, as if a fire really did blaze within them, vibrant even from the other end of the massive dining table.

Azir stared unabashedly. Lynn, on the other hand, did her best to keep her gaze averted. She ate her meal slowly, her eyes fixed on the floral pattern in the lace tablecloth, all the while aware of the smoldering eyes locked on her.

((This is the opening paragraphs of the novella))

  • Lynn's breath caught in her throat as Azir pulled her close, placing one firm hand on the small of her back to guide her. This close, the smooth silk of his robe disguised nothing. She fought the urge to splay her fingers across the powerful muscles coiled in his arm and looked away, partly to avoid eye contact at this close proximity, and partly to figure out what exactly they should be doing.

Lynn had always heard that dragons were exceptionally warm, due to the unceasing fire that burned through their veins. But actually being held by a dragon was unlike anything she'd imagined.

...Not that she made a habit of imagining such things.

((From near the end of chapter one))

  • The northern side of the mountains were much cooler than Azir would have liked, but cool for a dragon is not the same as cool for a human. As such, he was not at all surprised when the Luminous entourage arrived, rose-emblazoned flags billowing atop their gold-trimmed carriages, and Queen Lynn stepped out onto the rocky path looking as though she was close to fainting. Rivulets of sweat made stripes in her makeup, and her hair had fallen from whatever sort of elegant updo it doubtless occupied at the start of her journey.

And yet somehow, despite all that, she was still stunning.

Azir lounged in his dragon form in the sunniest patch the tall mountain ridge allowed, his black wings fanned out to absorb the heat and his tail swishing idly behind him. His brothers waited in mortal form, dressed in their finest. Hadrian carried a suitcase— though it was only for show; servants trailed behind him with about a dozen more— and Tevvan held a bouquet of flowers to offer the queen. Day lilies. Azir's favorite.

((From chapter two. Though the book is in third person, it's "deep" PoV so each chapter alternates following either Lynn or Azir.))
