At first glance, Alyssa is an adult with the mind of a 6 year old. She talks like a child, plays with child toys, and has a hard time understanding the more complex political issues that have stemmed from the poor leadership of the vault. (And by "more complex", I mean that the dire threats the situations propose have no effect on her whatsoever, as she is for the most part a very naive girl. ) However, this is all an act on her part as a way of coping with the fact that she accidentally killed her younger sister. Snapping her out of her "peaceful state" could bare trouble.
