Wentworth Newton had everything. A loving family, personal tutor, beautiful home. Anything Wentworth desired, it was his. Until the day his father was framed for a crime he didn't commit. His father was publicly executed and Wentworth and his mother were banished to the slums with no money or possessions to call their own.

Wentworth was forced to learn how to survive on his own after losing his mother shortly after banishment. These skills were put to "good" use once he became an adult. Wentworth finds corrupt city dweller and kills them. He takes their riches and divides it amongst the other slum dwellers so they can afford food and medicine. (Basically an extreme version of Robin Hood)

Wentworth is actually extremely kindhearted and passionate despite the world showing him no kindness in return. He's a big goofball and loves joking around with friends. Though, he does have a short-temper and if someone crosses Wentworth, he will hold a grudge until his dying day.

  • (Teasing)

Is that so? I apologize if the slums are not up to your standards, Lord* Solomon. Perhaps, we should continue our discussion somewhere more to your liking? High City, perhaps? Or how about the Tower of the Royals?

*Ren Solomon isn't actually a "Lord". Wentworth is calling him this to emphasize how haughty Ren is acting in this scenario.

  • (Uncertain)

Do… do you think something happens to us after we die?

    (Somber)

After my father died, my mother kept telling me that he was watching over us from above. It used to comfort me, but, now? I can’t help but wonder if they look down on me and are proud of who I have become.

(He gets a little bit choked up)

Or do they look down from the stars and feel disappointment every time I…

  • (Annoyed)

By people, I assume you are referring to city dwellers because slum’ers know exactly who I am. They see me just fine.

    *Frustrated growl*

(Regretful/Disappointed. He has suddenly realized that spending time with this person was a bad idea)

Maybe you should head back to the city? I’m sure your kind are probably missing you. There’s still another hour or so until the Shadowing so you might be able to catch the tail end of your grand party.

Much appreciated. I listened to some of your reel—back atcha! Glad to see you've gotten some work. I've scored three low payers (commercial) from Voice123 but I'd love to get some character work. I'm thinking of buying the same gear you use (Shure and Focusrite). YOu're happy with them both, yes?

Thank you very much, Stunami. I haven't had a chance to get a professional demo made (due to covid shutting down most of the studios around here), but the one I threw together seems to be doing an alright job haha. Congrats on the commercial work! That's fantastic! I was actually thinking about getting a new mic over the weekend. The Shure is a good mic, but the audio is pretty quiet, even with the cloudlifter preamp that I bought to boost the audio. I end up having to turn the gain up too high and my audio isn't as sharp as I wanted. I was looking into getting the RØDE NT1-A mic, but want to do a bit more research before taking the plunge.

That's kinda crazy. I wish I could send you my buddy's advice from a week or so ago on gear. "OK - you are talking real gear. I am going to give you the dream setup and then we can come down from there. The Focusrite is the absolute goto D/A. For voice work all the cool kids are using a Shure SM7B run through a Cloudlifter. The Cloudlifter boosts the signal because the mic is a dynamic mic, and the signal is pretty weak." Let me know what you go with on Mic purchase.

Yeah, I was hoping the cloudlifter would work a bit better. I actually ended up buying two because I thought my first one was defective. But the audio was still pretty quiet. If I'm doing a loud character, it's great, but quieter ones the audio is waaaaay too low. I ended up picking up the Rode NT1-A today and will be testing it out tomorrow so hopefully I like this one :)

Good to know. I was thiiiiiis close to snagging one. Struck me as odd that you'd need to buy a separate component to make it work. probably good for a decent projector in a podcast setting but not for the nuances of reserved or subdued reads. One of my other VO buddies swears by his NT1-A. But DO let me know on that one, as well. I'm looking for a Focusrite, mic, cable bundle. Do you use a swing arm or a stand for your mic?
