It’s the li’l erudite youth abused for the machinations of every single character on the show, but why wouldn’t you? He’s clearly an incel or, at least, that’s where his story begins after accidentally implying that “some women bully men” in episode one and completely missing the mark on his woke target. In this regard, Chester is the boy genius reinvented, addressing retro tropes that considered all nerds inherently sweet. Pierce frequently clashes with him, he seems to operate a weapons facility full of his “precious guns” and his obsession with the supernatural enflames Tara’s desire to “club him to death like a baby seal.”
