Lawrence is the secondary antagonist of the film. He was Prince Naveen's royal valet, but after enduring years of disrespect and humiliation from the prince, Lawrence betrayed Naveen and aligned himself with the wicked Dr. Facilier to exact vengeance. Lawrence comes from a peasantry background and has spent a majority of his life being pushed around by his abusive family, which explains his motivations to be in control for once.

  • (scolding) "At this point you have two choices. Woo and marry a rich young lady, (enunciated) or get a job!" 

  • (terrified, reasoning for his life) "Th-the poor devil was gasping, so I loosened the lid! E-ever so slight--ah!" (he exclaims as he is pushed over)

  • (overconfident, trying to act smooth) "Well, when you're next in line for the throne, you're poised like a panther...ready to expect the unexpected...(growls playfully)"
