Nightfire for The Mother of Faces
A powerful spirit residing in the Forgetful Valley who creates new faces, thus new lives, for those who yearn to leave their old life behind. She takes great pride in the faces she creates, and is resentful to the humans who hunt her down just to change their faces as if they disregard the work she puts into the faces she makes. She played a hand in what happened to Ursa after her disappearance.
I want a voice that's very powerful and ethereal, but still able to sound motherly when necessary.
I walk through my forest once a season, but never have I strayed from the path my wolf chooses for me. I do so now in deference to the Avatar, the great bridge between the spirits and the humans.
These -- humans trample into my forest to make demands of me as if I were their servant! They dare ask me to replace my precious gifts with new ones! Do you know how it feels to be told by such insignificant beings that your work is inadequate?
Ursa ... I sense much pain in you. Do you really believe a new face will relieve you of this pain?
Nice job on this one. I think the only thing I could see improved is that for line 2, she doesn't sound bitter enough. Like she's only barely tolerated people up to this moment and now she's at a boiling point.
