Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon | Comic Dub (PAID ROLES)
Art Dad Chad for Gannis Ducain
Rey: "I stole it from Unkar Plutt. He stole it from the Irving Boys, who stole it from Ducain."
Han Solo: "Who stole it from me!"
Gannis Ducain was a simple man working in Maz Kanata's castle, who yearned to go on the kinds of adventures that he heard about from the bar's patrons. Ducain jumps at the opportunity to work on Han Solo's crew, but once he finally gains Solo's trust, he steals the Falcon to bolster his own criminal reputation. Years later, he reflects sorrowfully on the mistakes of his past when interrogated by Bazine Netal.
Ducain is open to interpretation, but shouldn't sound too gruff. Ducain has 26 lines in issue #5, and the role pays $9.10.
“All my life, for as long as I can remember, I was nobody. I worked for Maz Kanata, doing what I already did best: I was unseen. I was unheard. But I listened. And I heard things - things I couldn’t even believe. These smugglers and pirates, they lived lives that felt so… big to me.”
“But this ship - it’s legendary. I mean, it made the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs. It’s been inside a Death Star.”
“I was tired of being a nobody. If I did just this one bad thing, I could change my entire life. Then I wouldn’t be a nobody anymore. I’d be Gannis Ducain, smuggler and pirate!”
