Throughout the story, the readers point of view transitions between that of our main characters, Antony and Robin. In order to best represent this transition auditorily, the audiobook narrations will be shared between two voices; one male representing Antony, and one female representing Robin. The narrator role calls for clear pronunciation, drawing attention to the drama and suspense through certain pauses and presentations, and the ability to read long, lengthy paragraphs with ease.

  • (Standard Narration)

    Narrator:

Robin ran through the empty upper floors of the Skyliner offices, holding a collection of manila folders in her arms. She frantically placed a folder on each desk she passed, one-by-one, keeping a close eye on the time each time she passed the elevator clock when she changed floors. Just as she finished her timed race through the eighteenth floor, the first small wave of employees arrived. Robin stopped to take a quick breath, placing the last file down in the drop box at the office door near the elevators, feeling worthy of a gold or silver medal. But her relay race was far from over. A woman wearing a fine purple dress with a silver necklace approached the office and unlocked the door. Robin smiled at her, still trying to catch her breath. The woman smiled back and took the files from the drop box.

    SFX:

    (Sound of door unlocking.)

    Woman:

    Oh, thank you very much.

    Narrator:

The woman said, entering into the office. Robin nodded in acknowledgment. The woman stopped in the doorway and stepped back out for a moment.

    Woman:

Oh, and can I get a raspberry bagel with a tall hazelnut coffee from the cafeteria?

    Robin:

    (tired, but gracious)

    Uh, sure.

    Narrator:

    Robin replied, graciously.

  • (Suspenseful Narration)

    Antony:

    “Go!”

    Narrator:

Tony shouted at her, waving her towards the door, dropping the end of the broken clarinet.

Robin sprinted towards the door with Tony chasing after her. She glanced back to see Leather roll over, a trail of blood dripping from his forehead, and grab Tony by the ankle. Tony stumbled to the floor with a heavy thud. Robin turned around. Tony looked up at her from the ground.

    Antony:

“Go! Just run! I’ll find you!”

    Narrator:

    he shouted at her.

Robin hesitated. She felt her heart racing in her chest, wishing not to leave Tony’s side.

Tony planted his boot across the gunman’s face and looked back at Robin.

    Antony:

    “GO!”

    Narrator:

    he shouted once more.

Robin turned back around and ran from the exhibit towards the stairs. She could still hear Tony struggling to break free.

Apologies, this was meant to be for the Male Narrator and I misclicked.
