Not much is known about Clanden's history. On the surface he appears to be a peaceful and relatively normal person, but further investigation reveals a much darker reality. Clanden is a serial killer who kills female escorts and makes snuff video tapes.
Personality:
Hannibal Lecter <---
I'd like him to sound calculating and intelligent. He's outwardly polite but something is "off" about him. Cold but manipulatively charming..almost emotionless. Think of how Hannibal Lecter acts in "Silence of the Lambs". He's polite and he's formal but there's something disorienting about the way he talks and looks at people.
The audition does not have all of his lines. Entire script is about three pages in length.

Good to see you again, I hope you're winning some money in here.
Oh, that's great{genuine} . I could sure use some help. You see, I do explosives, and they have a special need for some big explosions.
You find his tape in his safe and you talk to him
(Change in character)

(Denies at first) (Nervous)
What the fuck are you talking about? Tapes in a safe? I'm sorry. I don't understand. What are you talking about?!(shakes his head)
(Sees the tape)
(mutters under his breath in fright) What the fuck!? How'd you...?!!!
(heavy breathing) (scared) Ok. ok.. What do you want? (heavy breathing) What do you want from me?.
(Someone tells him, "I can't give you these tapes. These are evidence of a crime.)
Well....... I knew this day would come sooner or later. (Sighs) I need to show you something. Give me one moment please. (reaches into his pocket)
Look above you. All those blinking lights. You see this? (Shows you a metal cylinder)
I press this button here and *all* of Gomorrah burns to the ground
....You don't want me to do this. Do you?
........... I've watched you.............I've seen what you've done....... ...(sadly) I know you can kill me........
(Basically if you kill him, he presses the red button and the entire building blows up and you die too)
I'm giving you a choice. You can kill me........or......you can give me the tape and we both walk away nice and quietly.
(hand makes a come hither motion)(Demands) ....Give me the tape....
(You disable his explosives) (Or you persuade him to turn himself in)
(Sigh)....(heavy breathing) All right. (distraught) (puts his hand up) I'll turn myself in.
(looks away pensively...then slowly looks you straight in the eyes)....but you should probably know something. You’ll **never** know what happened to the other girls. (laughing)......(Smiles) (whispers) They’re not all dead. (stops whispering) (laughing) Oh no...they're in a special place and only *I* know where they are.
They'll rot (laughs) They'll just fester and rot (laughing)
(Courier asks, "Why did you do it? Why did you kill these women?")
(confused) (distraught) (unstable) (sad) (excited) (Has to sound mentally ill)
I……I don’t know....….I..I just *have* to. .....I can’t explain it….(getting excited while he says this) it makes me happy. It brings me joy….. You wouldn’t understand…. No one understands…….. (disturbing voice) But…I I LOVE doing this. And (crying and laughing at the same) And I don’t know why......... (laughs)....(whispers) (smiling with tears in his eyes) It makes me happy.
Hmm.........he sounds too normal. I want him to sound...off. Mentally off. It's hard to explain. But I'm basically trying to have him voiced like someone I met a while back but I have no sound sample to provide. He wasn't mean or cruel. In fact, he was actually outwardly polite. But just from the way he looked and talked I thought, "Something is seriously wrong with him.." Something like that. Hard to explain...Your voice sounds like someone I could see with a team of soldiers around him with a detonator in his hand. But I'm looking for that odd fellow. He has no henchman. No soldiers under him. He lives in a small room and doesn't let sunlight in. Just a weird fellow all around...
