Claude de Alger Obelia is the current reigning emperor of the Empire of Obelia. In the fictional book The Lovely Princess, aka Athanasia’s previous fate, Claude completely ignored Athanasia for her entire life, eventually killing her after she was framed of poisoning Jennette. In this new life, he seems to be less cold and uncaring towards Athanasia. Claude attempts to show affection in an almost tsundere-like manner.
A cruel and merciless leader, but a strangely affectionate father.
This character’s voice actor will have to narrate Claude’s perspective in third person as well, though not often.
Voice type: Mid-low to Low, that of an adult but not gravely. Strong and stoic.
(Emotionless, aggressive) “The suffocating feeling whenever your face comes to mind will soon disappear when you're gone. So die right now.”
Context: Claude has lost all his memories of Athanasia due to dark magic. This also causes him to be in pain whenever he sees her. Because of this, he is about to kill her.
(Desperate, emotional) “I've lost. From beginning to end I've been toyed with. If you want I'll even beg. If I don't at least do this I fear you will disappear completely. I know, I know. This is just another foolish emotional plea...even knowing that, I'm here again. Although I know how this ends...don't think about anything else. Make a decision for you and you alone. Don't go. Choose me. Now, in this moment, not the child who is eating away your life, but me!”
Context: He is begging Athanasia’s mother to abort her child and save her own life.
(Surprise me!) “If you want it that badly, then I suppose I have no choice. I usually hate such noisy places, but...yes. I promise.”
Context: Athanasia asked him to be at her debutante and dance with her.
Hello!! Thank you for submitting an audition! I hope you’re alright with some feedback! I really liked the voice you used. it fit the Claude image I had in my head near perfectly. The first line could have used a bit more bite, but it still sounded great! The consistency in your voice with the second line was nice, but the emotion wasn’t as strong as I imagined. That line is one of the only moments where Claude is shown without his emotionless exterior, so a bit more buildup and desperation would've be lovely! The third line was delivered really well though! It’s your choice, but if you’d like, I would love to hear a redo of the second line, though you can redo the whole thing if you’d prefer. Thank you very much for the wonderful audition!!
