That_Theatre_Kid for Mao / Kagome Mao
She/Her - 4’9” / 146cm
A Futakuchi-onna (http://yokai.com/futakuchionna/) yokai. Falls under the paladin fighting class. Tends to fall under the deredere archetype.
Kagome works as a teahouse waitress in a small village under the guise of a normal human, despite being a futakuchi-onna. She's done her best to hide it all her life from the common public and named the mouth on the back of her head, Kuchi (though a lazy name that Kuchi resents as it literally means mouth). Since her teahouse is the only in the village, Yasu and their family were common customers, and that's how she met them. She quickly grew attached to Yasu and the two became friends. She was able to accept Yasu as being a kitsune and yokai rather fast and decided that she wants to help her friend on their journey to reclaim their mother's throne.
Mao would probably have a very sweet voice and with a bit of energy behind it when she's flustered, but probably has a gentle and timid voice when speaking normally, though I can imagine her voice can tend to be snide/snarky from time to time. Probably a high to mid range.
If you wish to audition for her, please check out Kuchi as well. It won't be required, but I thought it'd be a good idea for them to share a VA as they are the same body.
"Welcome, Yasu-Chan! It's good to see you again! Shall I get you the usual?"
(worried) "I don't know! I get a bad feeling about that guy! I'm not saying he's lying, but perhaps...he's not telling us everything. Something's wrong. I can feel it."
"If it's alright with you, I'd like to be by your side, Yasu-Chan...(flustered) I mean! I uh- In a friendly protective way! Nothing overbearing or potentially romantic I mean unless that's what you want! I mean- Um! (tries composing self) I just want to make sure you're safe because you've been such a good friend to me."
"You don't think I'm a freak? My..."situation," doesn't bother you?"
(snide) "Oh yes, and an ogre and his two floozies is a better option? Suuuure."
(battle cry) "T-Take some of this!"
Thank you for checking out the role like I asked. I do think Mao is a better fit for your voice, though I think it could use a bit more hyperness to it. That and perhaps for the flustered part to flow a tad more naturally (you don't have to follow the exact ups that are on there), or at least have more inflections like you accidentally dug yourself into one hole and tried jumping out of it. However, it's just and audition, so I can't actually critique you harshly for no context or direction. Now for your Kuchi, it was good, and I'm love that you got Audrey II vibes, but just be careful about moving when recording. Thank you once again for your auditions! Apologies for how late I am responding.
It’s fine. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep it in mind for future auditions. And once again, thanks for the opportunity.
