[NOTE] Sorry we cannot pay a huge amount - it's a new project by a small team with a small budget.  But we believe the rate is fair according to the Indie Project Rate Guide suggestions.  We need passionate, yet professional-minded individuals who are looking to add to their portfolio/experience/practice. Voice actors looking to get a start or experienced actors willing to take light compensation for their work are desired. We realize it's a stretch but you won't leave empty-handed, and you'll be glad to be a part of this unique show.

This is a small part in one episode of our show in which a group of adventurers enter the private chambers of a legendary Pirate Queen. She has spent most of her life building a secret underground society in large repurposed caverns miles beneath the surface of the desert planet. No one outside of this underground pirate utopia has ever seen her face, as she is quite reclusive and private in all matters of life, business, or otherwise.

She is a Tired, Mature voice, with an immense Calming nature that befalls anyone who enters her presence. Her diction and tone are not Slurred, but have a Quaint Gravitas that inhibit all of her visitors' speech and actions. She is not overly Seductive in her speech, but with enough time listening to her say the same thing over and over, anyone can be seduced. Almost Hypnotic, yet not Threatening or Creepy. It's a subtle Trance-inducing, Experienced voice. Can be known to be just a pinch Sarcastic at times. Keep her words slow and calm. yet powerful.

********** NOTE NOTE NOTE *********     REGARDING Accent: Not absolutely required, but if you could blend in a SLIGHT Eastern European influence to her speech, that would deepen the character a bit more. No full on Russian or Slavic accents.     Just a tiny taste of it.     Maybe only 15-25% of Eastern European present.

Sample Lines (rough copies of some of the Queen's lines, which have been a bit edited to conceal some major story elements) You don't need to record all of them, just a few that you feel really capture the emotion of that part of the scene. Several lines have been included below to help in finding the spectrum of her emotions emitted in this part.

Something to remember for your sample audition lines: The Queen has quite a range in emotion, but through it all, she still remains very calm, cool, collected, and almost seductive. Maybe try Sultry.... Not too saucy though. Try and keep that vibe through the every different line and response.

Thanks!

  • (her disguised attendant announces she has visitors without a prior appointment)
[V] But of course. Let them in. And take off that lousy get-up will you, dear?

(accepting the visitors into her room, already knowing who their leader is, and seeing through their disguises)
[V] You do me a great reverence, General Lennox of Finalia, to bring yourself and your compatriots into my chamber, alongside my very best hunter.... the three of you clad in our own colors and rags.... ha ha hah (sighing laughter) ahahahaha....

  • (getting a bit serious, she recollects her place in this world, and how it will be reinstated when all is done)
[V] We are all but pillars of dust on this ruined planet. We take a few breaths... exchange a few words... have a few laughs... and then, should fortune bless us so, we get to be dust once more. The cycle runs and runs, dears.
    Your "nations" will fall.
Until all that remains... is dust. You and you, and you.. and yes... even you, General... if you're lucky. If your descendants are lucky.     You will ALL join me in the DUST.        Voltura is. was. and will be.

  • (reveals she has seen the treasure they're after)
[V] I know what you seek. Trust me... I've seen it. But you know how my city, how my people, operate...     What they believe.    We do not covet the riches your "royalty" of the deserts above claim is of value. The REAL value in life is to love... To be loved.... and to have love.... GIVE... LOVE. (chuckles slightly) Make....  love.      Alas, if you must know, your fabled treasure IS REAL, my darling Hazel.    But it is not the treasure you truly seek...    You know that.
